9mm AR help.
Well I am tired of waiting for Olympic Arms to decide to make some more of their Glock cut lowers so I am going to build my own. I have a basic start but I need lots of help and pics from people that own 9mm AR's now.
I know there are a couple of different designs out there, Colt/Uzi, Sten are the main two and I am not sure how they compare with the Bushmaster ones. One big difference I know using the Glock mags is where the mag sits (front to back) in the mag well. I already have an idea for the mag release and how to make the semi perminate mag adapter.
Here are pics of what I have and what I need pic/measurement on. I do not have a 9mm upper yet since from what I understand they are slightly different depending on mag type used. The white stuff is styrofoam as a template.
Pic 1. I need to know how high it is from the top of the lower to the top of the round at the base.
Pic 2. Just showing.
Pic 3. Will it hurt anything to drill a hole in the ridge at the top edge (from above mag release to front pin) to put a roll pin in to hold in adapter?
Pic 4. At the top of the mag well what is the spacing in front of the mag and behind the mag. What kind of mag are you using?
Pic 5. I would like to see a pic of your feed ramp and bolt with and with out mag please. Yes this upper is a .223.
I would also like to see the ejector set up and mag adapter you are using. Any other info you thing would be useful would be great.

Those are great. That is a good start.
Now it looks like mine sits a bit further forward then the Colt but I don't think that would be a problem do you? It looks like the ejector is not something hard to deal with. I see yours has a long bullet guide. I think I am going to need a short one on mine. Is the chamber in the 9mm in the same place as it is on the .223? I would still like to se a pic of the bolt (face/bottom) and chamber if posable.0 -

Well what is next for me is to figure out how to make sure this mag is in the right place and then get to working on the suppressed upper so it will end up like this:
The pic is from SRT which is who I am going to have finish the suppressed upper.
The reason I want to use Glock mags is I have lots, they are cheep, and I can use the same mags in my pistol and carbine. Colt mags are not cheep, I have lots of Uzi mags but I don't want to chop them up to fit this.0 -
Why not just buy a Colt magwell and pin it? 0 -
