It actually looks like it is easing up outside. I can only imagine what the interstate looks like. Think skating rink!?!!??!?!

We are in the pink! If the wind died down, no problem. Can you imagine what the roads by the rest stop between us and Ogallala is like? Do NOT want to make the newspaper headlines. :)

The calves would wait until the worst part of the storm. We had 150-200 of our own heifers...and another 500 that we calved for a neighbor (think WILD COWS!!). At 3.30 am, pitch dark, in a blizzard, and suddenly, you are thrown through the air, with the greatest of ease....and then you land....but already started running! LOL!

Guns - where do you work?

There is a gunshow, 60 miles from me. As I am typing this note, I would be halfway there, but, no.

Between the 4 hours of freezing rain that began at 3.30 am, a 50 mph wind that is continuing on with the huge flakes of extra wet snow.

I am not complaining though....but the storm could have stranded us AT the gunshow.

like being stranded at a gunshow is a bad thing... you sure are going to be be bored when you get to heaven....

You must be talking about the Salina KS show. Some really strange weather around here right now. As I understand the snow line ends just south of the Kansas/Nebraska border. Lot of tornados touching down around the Salina area right now. There was a tornado warning just south of Abilene KS about an hour ago. I'm in Topeka and I plan on going Sunday.

Here is NE South Dakota, Fri. AM forecast was snow by mid day, then changed to snow by mid-afternoon, then by evening, then changed to snow before midnight w/100% chance w/3-4 inches by AM.

This AM .... nothing but a few rain drops, but the forecast is for snow by mid-morning. It's after 11 AM and zip.

The tax $$$ paid to the weather bureau is a screwing to the taxpayer.

ONLY job I know of where one can be wrong 99.9% of the time and still have a job.
And still be considered the expert opinion on exactly what is going to happen and why over the next hundred years. They can't get tomorrow right, but they are the know all, end all on the future. BS!

The one thing I'm sure of when I look at the ten day forecast is that whatever they are projecting right now for then is very unlikely to be what actually happens, so plan accordingly.

Yep...that is the one....small show, but the homemade cinnamon rolls taste JUST like what my grandma used to make. The rolls are worth the trip themselves.

The interstate is still closed. Town looks like one large truck stop..seriously.

The roads are a sheet of ice...fugly out there. Wind is still kickin' a bit.

But, on the bright side, ALL of my fired 204 brass has been resized. About 2500 223 brass is sized as well. A thousand of the 223 brass are sized, uniformed, flash removed, cut to length, chamfered, deburred, and primed. Prairie dogs are jjjjjust around the corner. :)
