Let me guess. You are in your twenties, or at the most early thirties, and are the product of a Kalifornia or East Coast public school system?

none of the above, so what's your point?

You come across as a brainwashed, liberal,limp-wristed idiot. THAT'S my point.

    Been nice chatting with you.

    Are you black? [:D]

I could retort that you come across as a bigoted, white power neo-nazi Klansman.[:0]

    Are you Aryan?[:D]

    Ah, well, it's been fun.

Enjoy the USC/Michigan game. It's a good one.

I thought it was rather decent of them to have a national holiday in memory of Robert E. Lee's birthday. Of course they had to give it another name for PC reasons.

Who gave it another name? And when did they do it?

I actually feel sorry for all of the letter carriers who will have to lug four days' worth of mail, including "After-Christmas Sale" circulars, on Wednesday. I'm not convinced that all of them will really enjoy their paid day off with the knowledge of what's waiting for them the next day.

Look. It isn't about respect. The USPS hasn't met any paid holiday they didn't love (although this wasn't their call). I remember when Lincoln's and Washinton's birthdays were celebrated seperately. Someone in D.C. got the idea that we better combine these becuse in 100 years, if we are still around, we will have 30 dead presidents and we will have more holidays than commerce can take. Presidents day is a good idea!

No doubt, President Ford was the man we needed at an ugly time in U.S. history. He should be included in the presidents day holiday.

    Sounds like "The Law" speaking...

I don't subscribe the the "Borg Mentality...Resistance is futile...you WILL be assimilated".

SO, by not being a syphocant, the old "queer" label is thrown out.

Wow, that's, like, real deep thinking, dude.

    I'm all for it!

I think a former President desererves any and all respect we can give him upon his passing.

I would say the same for Clinton who I personally feel was one of the worst Presidents we have had. The fact is he was still a President.

I truely hope more than the post office closes. I wish most companies would close in respect for a former President!

Yes, those poor postal workers only get 13 PAID holidays per year. They need an extra one to make it 14!

As far behind as the USPS is from mid december the SOB's should be working sundays holidays just to deliver the mail they failed to deliver since mid december. My 2 day priority packages that are 2 day delivery have taken 5 or more days to make it to their destination (gee i wonder if they will give me back the difference in cost since they FAILED to live up to their contract?)I have been waiting for two packages sent parcel post from 1 state away since 12/12/06 and they still are not here and with their poopt* tracking system no way to track them. Their system posts when it was mailed and when it was delivered and nothing in between and even they cannot find any info in-between. Dirty SOB's. They are supposed to be non government owned/run but they use government plates and always get government days off!

Parcel post goes to the bottom of the pile and gets delivered after they get first class and priority mail delivered. I also had a parcel post shipment take 30 days from one state away and the package was beat to hell. I always ship and request priority mail. It usually costs less than $1.00 more than parcel post. When I'm looking to buy something that says "parcel post", I write to the seller and request priority mail. If they refuse, I buy elsewhere.

From what I understand FedEx handles priority packages for the USPS ... hope your packages were delayed in Denver or in one of the 2-3 FedEx trucks we saw laying on their side when were traveling across Nebraska for the holidays ...

    Uh, every time one dies?

When the president declairs a national day of mourning, the USPS really has no choice about staying open. Blame the Prez, especially this one, it is all his fault.

Martin Luther King was a Communist-collaborating turd. The fact that political correctness in this country forced a King holiday on us is a downright embarrassment to me.

said the local Klavern leader. How was your trip to Iran with David Duke?

A typical reaction from a liberal hand-wringer. Say anything critical of a "person of color" and right away the leftists label you a "racist."
I'm not what you would consider a leftist liberal or a hand wringer of any sort. Some of your past postings are what make me think of you as a racist. But opinions are like dudes everybody has them and most stink

For the record I did not type dudes

I'm waiting on USPS to deliver an add-on for my AK. A dust cover with a see-through (over/under) Picantinny optics rail. Now I need to decide on the kind of red-dot to put on it.

What about those waiting for their first of the month checks? The banks are open but no mail. Plus they screwed up and had late checks last month, but they have no problems with that.
I work next to a social security office. Every time I walked by I would see another group of people trying to get in. I would say they are closed today for a federal holiday. Their answer was always No Habla Eglis

Death is not a matter of convenience. We mourn when we need to mourn. And that happens to be this day.
