Glad you managed to get a ride in today. I did the same. It was sunny and close to 70 in Portland, OR today and its the first time I have had my Harley on the road for two months, except for a buzz up the neighborhood street to impress my son.

I was afraid the gas was going to turn to jello if I didn't run the old stuff out and fill the tank. It ran like a top. Started on first crank.

What part of the US are you located?

Here is a picture of my riding partner. I keep telling him that he needs to invest in some protective leather clothing but he likes the business biker look!

    Fun times on Motorcycles.
We actually had sunshine for the first time in a month and I spent some time on my new RMZ450.

Some of my best riding memories were at night, through farmlands from the Valley Forge area down through south Jersey.

Misty, muggy, the smell of green and cooling asphalt, a gal's thin tee-shirt between her beating heart and my alert body. Body mind, and bike become one. After midnight, stillness.
Open roads, no traffic, no B.S. The smell of the engine and the rubber throttle grip.

    I had a '71 Honda CL450, then a '77 CB750, and lastly, an '81 900 Custom.

I sold the Custom when the garage was too full, I had had my thrills, and a buyer wanted to pay all I had invested in the bike. A Fish & Game official in full uniform, gun protruding from his hip, paid cash and rode off on it that night, after a 200 yard ride on the back.

    There's nothing like a straight-four after a carb synchronization.

If you are going to ride, please...

Buy a QUALITY helmet - preferably full mask with a CLEAR lense.

Buy LEATHER...ALL of it. Don't forget the gloves.

    Buy hard soled leather boots.

If you buy all of the above, at least you will be able to skid into the ditch, instead of sticking and tumbling on the road, grass, ditch, tree, whatever.
