A good thing you don't plan for

Went to REI tonight looking for a nice, lightweight fleece jacket for all around wear. Found the one I wanted, nice and light, wind resistant, the works, price was agreeable. Went to check out, cashier asked if I had an REI card. A light bulb went off in the deep dark corner of my brain, so I fished through my wallet, past the NRA Membership card, picture of an old girlfriend, behind the receipt from an unknown date, aha! Handed him the card, had a $10.00 balance, used that toward the jacket, and since I've had the card for some certain amount of time, I got an extra 10% off. Gotta love it when something like that happens and you don't even expect it. After tax was included paid less for the jacket than it was marked for. What a deal!

  Although I'm not sure what it stands for, it's an outdoor / recreational supply store (for lack of a better word). They sell things like hiking / climbing gear, tents, sleeping bags, etc... I'm not sure if thet are based solely out of TX or not, but I'm sure there are other stores similar to them across the US.

  recreation equipment incorporated. not solely in tx cause theres a few i know of in ma.

  Like a high-end Cabelas without the hunting gear. They cater to hikers, campers, rock-climbers, kayakers, bicyclists.....etc.
  
  It's a good store for outdoor clothing but it ain't cheap.
