Fair enough. Let me be more precise: I've entered the world of online selling.

"actual cost" always scares me. I had a guy who didn't get what he thought the gun was worth try to stick it to me on the shipping.

Hmmm. You think it's better to make a set rate then? I'd do that, except that I don't ship much stuff so I don't know what to expect.

Maybe I'm naive, but I figure actual cost means just that.

I'm sure there's much about online selling that I don't get, yet. For example I see now that I have WAY too much text in the auction.

That's entirely your call. Shipping costs have just jumped a lot due to fuel costs.

Thanks for bidding! And rest assured that for me, "actual shipping cost" means "actual shipping cost" and not some weird way to screw you.

Heh. You might just get these items real cheap.

I think it should but don't know for sure.

At $32 + shipping it would be worth a chance - - if it doesnt' you got an excuse to buy a chinese, right?

    Spurge,

I feel the same way. I am even wiling to put the receipt for the shipping in the box with the item. The way prices change these days you can't really have a fixed amount without someone losing. Actual shipping costs to me means the buyer pays what it will cost to ship the item to them - no more, no less. That's the way it ought to be.

I find that actual shipping works best for me. I used to try a fixed amount based on the total price, and I started it at $10, but most of these purchases cost around $15-$25 to send, and I was losing too much money. Rather than raising my item prices, I just put down actual shipping, and that works the best. Shipping prices are going up too. I charge exactly what UPS charges me, whether it be $10.01 or $15.27, or whatever, that is what I charge em. So I try to recommend buying or selling a lot at one time, in order to save on shipping. And I get my boxes for free, so I don't charge any extra or handling fees.

Minutes to go on these items - both underpriced.

Really? I thought the stock was going for too much.

Anyway, the stock finished at $35.50 and the magazine at $5.25 (same buyer). I bought them in a package with a decent-condition, matching serial numbers SKS and I bought the whole package along with a gun case and some ammo for $80. Maybe my items sold for too little, but hell, I got a great deal: SKS for under $40 (net)! So I can't begrudge the winners of these auctions the deals they're getting. Spread the love, dude, like.....groooovy. Umm, what I mean to say is I can't complain.

Still, thanks a bunch for the plug.
