1st Lady to appear on reality show.
ABC reported Tuesday that first lady Michelle Obama will appear on the network's TV show "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" in an effort to help military families. Her episode will be filmed on Thrusday in Fayetteville, North Carolina and will air sometime in October, as reported by an ABC spokesperson.
The first lady is filming the episode as part of her Joining Forces initiative for military families. The episode will focus on 15-year U.S. Navy veteran Barbara Marshall and her family. Michelle Obama and the "Extreme Makeover" team will help Marshall's mission of assisting homeless veterans by building a new house that will house several families.
Marshall is using her current home for the Steps-N-Stages Jubilee House for female veterans who need assistance. The goal is to give Marshall the keys to her brand new home in just one week.
"Extreme Makeover" host Ty Pennington reported that one of the reasons Mrs. Obama is appearing on the show is because of the green house the team is building in the backyard. Pennington said:
She's very big about Joining Forces, which is about taking care of the military families, but she's also about Americans eating healthy and produce. And so we want to take some of her ideas and give them a green house so they can grow their own produce, help feed the families that are inside the Jubilee house. And maybe even give back to the community.

Show producers report that the house will be large enough to house multiple families.
Volunteers have stepped up to help, but more supplies are needed. For the latest list, visit the Extreme Makeover Home Edition website. Organizers also say the build needs skilled tradesmen to volunteer, icnluding framers, trim carpenters, roofers, a retaining wall company, masons, wood siding installers and professional painters.Volunteers must report to Fayetteville State University on Langdon Street to pick up hard hats and t-shirts. A bus will take the volunteers to the construction site.

A man drove from Penn. to Cleveland to meet his old girlfriend. He bought a .22 Luger on the way and brought it with him. For some reason he shot her and her father. When police surrounded him he turned the Luger on himself. The paper reports that police found a box with over 500 rounds of ammo in the car 0 -

I think it interesting that they emphasize the amount of ammo like that makes him a nut or something for having over 500 rounds of .22 ammo. I myself have 2 bricks sitting at home so that makes what 1000 rounds?0 -

I think I've seen 22 in boxes of 550, 525, and 500, last box i bought I think was 550(maybe 525?)- packed all loosely. The remington I bought last was 500 rounds with 10 small boxes inside, each with a plastic tray holding 50 rounds.
Do they even sell 22 in smaller amounts, I've never bought anything other than ~500 round bricks. Who would bother packaging 20 rounds of 22 (i can understand selling 20 rounds at a time of 30-06, but 22?)

When I was a kid, you could buy 50 copper plated lead Remingtons in a green and yellow cardboard box. I can't remember the price, maybe $1.29. A box would last all squirell season.0 -
You can still buy boxes of 50 in many brands. Usually about 10-15% more expensive (per round) than buying the brick. But sometimes exactly the same cost....except that you have to keep going back to the store every half hour[:D] 0
