Letter to candidate
Who is Mitt Romney anyway? He's governor of some state, I think and also a (republican?) candidate for the presidency.
Anyway, I read an amusing article about how he's having to defend his hunting credentials and decided to send him a little missive.
I don't think it matters that I don't know exactly who the guy is and probably won't vote for him in any case. I do think it helps to disseminate my opinion. So I sent the following message to him through his campaign website:
Candidate Romney (and staff),
I find the debacle over your hunting credentials to be pretty entertaining. Personally, I think hunting birds in a fenced enclosure is pretty lame, but that's not the issue for me.
Where are you on the 2nd Amendment? What does "the right of the people to keep and bear arms" mean to you? Does it appear to you, as it does to me, that the right of the people HAS been infringed? Will you work to restore the 2nd Amendment rights that have been eroded, will you work to erode them further, or will you sit passively and let the congress do what it will?
Hunt, don't hunt, do a canned hunt: I don't give a damn.
But don't mess with my right to keep and bear arms. And if you want my vote, then you'll promote my right to keep and bear arms and you will promise to work to restore my 2nd Amendment rights as they are written in the Constitution; i.e. "shall not be infringed."
I've learned not to expect real replies from politicians so I'll look forward to some BS from your auto-responder and hope that my opinion somehow makes it into some report to you, regarding the opinion of the American people about guns.

He was govenor of MA,the state that gave us Kennedy and Kerry.MA also gave gays the right to marry. I don't think Romney is on the side of gun owners. 0 -

hehe. if he's from MA I guess I doubt he's there for the gun rights. I could ask but you'd think I'm an idiot so I'll just go look it up on Google: I still don't know if he's a republican (starting to sound unlikely).
Don't get me wrong: I don't like the republican party. I just don't know if this guy is a republican or not.
