Nunn would you please explain. You personally started a post stating that you had been denied access to the Wolf City, TX, site. This AM I was searching for this post to review replies and it's been poofed. Did you personally delete this topic, and if so, why?

Congratulations on your upcoming retirement. When my Granddad retired, they gave him his service revolver, handcuffs and Badge in a shadow box as a retirement gift. When my Uncle retired, they gave him his service revolver. Will they give you your service weapon or just a watch? Don

    David,

I finally found a pop-up blocker for my internet, but I recall you saying something onetime about a good spam blocker. Could you give me that information again.

    Thanks,

    I call BS on you.

In the "racist" thread, I stated there are "n
s" and there are black people, just like there are white trash cracker POS and there are white people.

But yet you singled out my reply, which stated that those that judge by the group ARE racist, and I stated better to judge a person one at a time.....and you use THAT as a reason to lock a thread?

    WHY?

I am NOT eboydell, or OB Juan.

I know you have a black foster kid, does that have anything to do with it?

Geezus, don't C&P a sentence from my post and ignore the rest of it as a justification to lock a topic.

    Here is the original post

    there are "n
s", and there are Black people.

Just like there are white trash crackers, and there are White people.

    Ditto Asians.

    Ditto Hispanics.

Better to judge one person at a time than to be racist.

I have met and worked with some fine black folks, and I have lived near some white trash POS that should have been shot on sight.

Easier to go through life with an open mind

Now, here is a post I did replying to PA Redneck, who got some nasty
e-mail after he said his daughter was pregnant with a black man's baby...

    PA Redneck wrote

"Now, I need some of you to critique mty spelling and grammar for me to see if I made the grade"

The good news, you spelled "Branch Davidians" correctly.

The bad news, you spelled "my" wrong.

    Just busting your balls.

If your daughter is happy, so be it.

    Who are we to judge?

So where am I being "racist", and how do you justify using MY post as a reason to lock the thread???

Thanks for asking. He called yesterday, so at least I knew he was OK at that time. He didn't have much to say, just checking in.

No news is good news...if he had a pile of "you won't believe this" stuff going on it would worry the mess out of everyone.

Good to hear he is doing well!

Oh, he has a pile of "you won't believe this" stuff going on. He just doesn't talk about it. I had to wait for a newsletter from his captain to find out that he had been involved in IED explosions and firefights.

    I would've traded with him.

Traded assignments? You might, but he wouldn't. He volunteered to go to Iraq. He had to extend his enlistment to get the assignment. He also had to give up the Army paying for his oral surgery to get the assignment. That cost him over $2G, out of pocket.

Sounds like you have raised a heck of a young man. My hat is off to both of you.

I'm not going to b.s. anyone. My deployment was an utter waste of taxpayer dollars. We did nothing significant. However, we did save the taxpayers some...I guess. It costs less to pay soldiers to do what we did than it would to pay private contractors.

I don't know how much credit I can claim, but I am very proud of Travis.

Now that, I just don't understand.[?]

Add edit: I mean about having to give up on the surgery.

    Shouldn't be much longer right?

Mrs Rogue is extending for ANOTHER year over there since I am on my way over in a few months. (I actually have to go through Fort Riley for 2 and a half months before I fly)

She extended cause she wanted us to be in the same hemisphere for a little while.......

Add edit: I mean about having to give up on the surgery.

I had surgeries scheduled for Travis, but it was a process, getting the insurance companies, medical and dental, to decide how much would be paid, etc. Meantime, Travis joined the Army. He said the Army would take care of his teeth. He was partly right.

He has a missing incisor, and needs an implant. He had an aneurysmal bone cyst at that location, so there wasn't enough bone to support an implant, so a bone graft was indicated. He also had four wisdom teeth that needed to come out.

Before he went into the Army, the plan was to remove the wisdom teeth, and use the bone fragments from that procedure to build up the bone for the implant. Then install the implant stud, then still later, install the tooth. The entire procedure would take about a year, and Travis was impatient, so he went in the Army instead.

Well, the Army had no problem with removing the wisdom teeth. That was a "necessary" operation, but the graft and implant were considered "cosmetic" so he had to go on a waiting list for that. As a PFC, he had to wait a long time. When he finally got the procedure approved, he also had the opportunity to go to Iraq. His outfit was being disbanded, and he had to choose whether to go with a company bound for Iraq, or another that would remain here. If he went to Iraq, he would not be where he could have the procedures done. If he wanted to have the procedures, he would have to remain at Fort Riley for the remainder of his enlistment. He chose Iraq. By the time his tour is finished, his enlistment will also be up, so no dental work.

So, when he was home on leave, he consulted the oral surgeon again. The surgeon removed a piece of bone from the rear jawbone and moved it to the front for a bone graft. He declined to install the implant at that time, preferring to wait a few months for the graft to take.

Travis arranged this all for himself, and paid the bill himself. He may get some back from insurance, but he laid out a little over $2G at the doctor's office.

I asked him if he didn't have to have some sort of permission to have surgery done by a non-Army doc, and he said, "Yeah, but what are they gonna do?"

I guess I did raise a pretty good young man.

...Very good to hear David. Yes you did well, but as all Father's know "you can give a kid a book and some will just eat the pages while others decide to read the pages", obviously Trav read the pages.

...Best to all of ya'll, God's speed...[;)]

I think your father, or whoever raised you, raised a pretty good one, too.
