Irises in Oct.?

2 years ago I transplanted a row of irises. Some came up this spring, some didn't. I got home from work yesterday and looked over at them and couldn't believe my eyes. One plant had 1 full bloom and 3 more coming on. Another plant had one bloom started. WTH. These are plants that didn't bloom this spring and it has been unseasonably warm but come on. Irises are spring flowers aren't they?

    Some times mistakes are made. I have a flower which is normally a July bloomer in riotous bloom now.
