The wife found a house she seems really excited about. It looks beautiful in the pictures (but no five car garage, darn it, only three). We had a budget of $300,000 in mind for a new house, and this one is a little over at $328,000. But it's been for sale for 9 months and they have reduced the price several times so maybe they'll come down one more time to $310,000 where we would feel comfortable. In Central Arkansas $300K buys a really nice house. If this house was in Marin County overlooking the San Francisco Bay it would be priced at $2.5M. But then, if it was in South Dakota it would be $200,000. It's all relative. Looking at it with the agent tonight.
Not liking the idea of going back into a mortgage after I paid of the one on our current house 4 years ago, but we can work on paying it off early and we can make a pretty big down payment and keep it under control.
I detest moving. But we have both come to hate our house. Really want to move.0
