EVER BEEN THE VICTIM OF THEFT..I DID LAST NIGHT!!
Went out this morning and my car door was latched open a little. Glass broken...Stereo gone. cds gone. coins and loose things gone. Never been ripped off like that before. I have a sick feeling because who ever did this had no problem doing it 20 ft from my front door!! Filed a report but i doubt any persons will be caught...hope they dont comeback. You never know. My car was stolen several years ago, cops seemed to have little interest in the caper. Mike actually found my car (in pretty much plain sight). I was pretty discouraged, to say the least, that the perps would be caught.
But, alas,...
the theiving little bastages had apparently broke into several cars in the neighborhood. They were caught and convicted.0 -
I came home one day to find two mexicans loading there truck with my firewood.
as soon as i pulled up one was in the truck starting to drive off, the other was climbing in the back. hey whats this funny little thing your up to, ohhhh
said the mexican in the back we just wanted to borrow some wood.
I said literaly and what your going to bring back the ash?
bam, they took off, I should have shot em, but at what point do you kill a man?, they only got a few pices of wood from me, but dam they should have been shot!
It just seems hard to plug a fella full of holes for a few pieces of wood.0 -

A few years ago in college some ba$tard stole the tailgate off the truck. I was going to drive to class as I was feeling lazy that day but I ended up walking b/c I needed a bit of time to cool off. It was snowing then so that helped me cool down a bit too. I never filed a report b/c I knew nothing would ever be done and it was a waste of time. And 4 months before that some idiot cut the chain and stole my bike. Probably the same person. I hope whoever took my bike broke their neck on it and whoever took my tailgate hit a tree!0 -
One of my roomates had his stereo stolen out of his car a few weeks ago. The theives who did it were obviously professional - they got into the car without breaking the glass (must have used one of those slim jim things). Whats scary is they did it in broad daylight, within a couple hours after he had just parked the car. Either they were extremely brazen, or they had been watching my roommate and knew his habits. 0 -

About two years ago my sisters' truck was stolen. It was broken down and I hauled it to her in-laws house. It stayed there for about three weeks. Then hauled it into town for a guy to fix it for us. It didn't even make it through the night. Gone in the morning. And it was only about ten feet in front of the house. Sorry basturds!! Still haven't seen or heard anything about it. Swore if I ever seen someone driving it in town, I'd snatch a knot in their azz!! I hate a theif. DAMN STRAIGHT!![;)] 0 -

That I do not understand. ATVs have serial numbers, and can be entered into NCIC. Most of the time, that is all we can do, but we do that much anyway.0 -
when i was 21 i went to spend a weekend with a girlfriend, came home everything was cleaned out, luckily i i took my guns, and even loaded my stereo up in my car, i think they came for the stereo, and it was definitely someone i knew, i have had a few cars broken into, and my 69 dodge super bee stolen

I was working the graveyard shift driving a taxi in Philadelphia, many, many years ago. At the end of my shift, I started up my 66 Mustang, put the car in first gear, let up the clutch and nothing happened. Turns our my driveshaft was stolen from underneath the car!

I live in the boonies and never locked my house doors. About 6-7 yrs ago I left for 30min., went down the road to amy shop, not 300yds from my home. Came back and the whole house had been ransacked. Took all the usual, TV, VCR, etc. and a whole bunch of crap not worth anything??? At the time I only had about 4-5 guns hid in the house, they never found the first one. Really didn't care about the TV and stuff, it was cleaning up the whole house that sucked. Never found them, but the house stays locked now....damn shame.

I know the feeling. A couple of years ago somebody smashed my window while I was at work, broad daylight, stole my Radar Detector and the whole cheap plastic center console that was full of change and CD's, but there was my Astra 9mm in there too . The cops took a report, they weren't thrilled to hear about the gun, but I've never heard back from them, so i assume the gun still hasn't been found. 0 -
small tool kit in san diego in the 70's. i was timing my bike and i went 100 yds down the alley and back to check the firing and the tools walked away.
had my change taken from my open car window in richmond one hot night in the 80's.
had old scrap seemless gutters stolen off my property one night. i drove around the block doing some neighborhood stuff 3 days later and saw them in a guys pickup. called the cops and explained that they were mine. i showed the cop my garage dimensions and told him to go measure them. 20'x6". i also showed him the matching cuts where i cut them off the roof. yep.....cop measured them, 20'x6". cuts matched. arrested him and found out it was his 3rd strike for petty theft and there was a warrant out on him for fraud. cop asked him why he left the gutters in the truck. perp said his truck wouldnt start and he had to get it fixed.
he pled guilty and did 3 to 5.
the cops cleaned out his house and found tons more stolen stuff. boarded up the house, auctioned it off, and he doesnt live here anymore.[^]0 -

My Hotel room was broken into when I was at a conference during my college days. They got my buddy's camera and about 50.00 in cash.
It was sort strange, they tried one of my shirts, even rolled up the sleaves before throwing it on the floor.
We were attending a large conference over the New Year's holiday. Our room was in the back by a stairway. They hit the same room on each floor from the 30 floor all the way down to the 10th.
The Chicago cops that came to take a report had booze on their breath when they were talking to us.0 -
When I was in New Orleans about 15 years ago someone broke into my car and tore the lower dash out to get at a $100 am/fm cassette stereo. The damage exceded the cost of the radio! They did catch the juveniles after they had broke in another 100+ cars though. 0 -
Also stayed at a red-dot (Indian owned) Days Inn last year. Housekeeping stole my $100 digital alarm clock/compass and a $50 patton fan. I called the owner and he said I will give you $5.00 discount for your loss. 0 -

try drilling a hole in one end of a piece of wood , insert your favorite round such as 30-06. add a little glue to the shavings stuff in hole . make sure you know which piece it is YOURSELF0 -
If every tell his story of getting ripped off, this thread will go into the thousands. Cars are a tempting target, & there are only so many things you can do. My list:
1) Install an alarm system if the car doesn't come with one.
2) Install McGard locks on the wheels.
3) Never keep anything of value in the car, ESPECIALLY guns.
In my area, the thieves are currently going after the catalytic converters. If you have a truck or SUV, they just scoot under it & cut it off with a Sawz-all.

They found him with some of my stuff. I got restitution for $3800. Used it as down payment on an engagement ring.0 -

I too had some Mexicans break into my car and steal my radio. They busted out my window and created a mess, ripped out the dash, cut every wire that they could find. The police came and filed a report but stated that "I would not get the radio back because they had more important cased to deal with" - What 0 -

When I was fourteen, a very nice looking lady of about 30 years of age stole my virginity!
I never did report it to the police,(I doubt they could have found it)
and I've never seen it since.
