Slavery around the world

Israeli brothel keepers have the right to buy and sell prostitutes in the same way that football clubs transfer players, a lawyer claimed last week. 'There is no difference between trading football players, hi-tech programmers, or surgeons, and selling women for purposes of prostitution,' Yaacov Shklar, who specialises in defending pimps, told a Knesset committee.
His comments came in the midst of a parliamentary investigation into Israel's sex trade which has caused scandal for the cynicism of the pimps and their lawyers towards the women they exploit.

Nice link to a six-year old story.
The "difference" is that in most of the world (including all of the rest of the Middle East), this kind of thing never comes under legal scrutiny (ie ever).
At least in Israel these claims are under investigation. (Compare to say, Mexico, Romania, Saudi Arabia, etc).

Are you alleging the Israeli prostitution rings no longer exist?
Does prostitution continue to exist in Israel?
Or are you just kvetching that the story is old, because if you are, here's a recent update:

Good info on American Indians as slaves, and as slave owners:

you guys are missing the big picture, none of those slaves are black so they really do not count, the only important fact about slavery is they where here over 100 years ago, and we have not paid enough for it yet 0 -

Our forefathers wanted them, they went and got them, and we have the results.
Sorta like Bush's invasion of Iraq--we did what he wanted and we'll pay for that mistake too. So far, the Iraqi financial expenditure dwarfs the American black costs--and there is no end in sight.0 -
The point is why should there be any additional costs for blacks. What about the American Indians who suffered slavery generation after generation, npt to mention no cost at all to the descendants of white slaves around the world. 0 -

Ahh, I don't think the American Indians were forcibly removed from their country and brought to a foreign land to be worked to death as were the Blacks.
And which AmerIndian slavery "generation after generation" are you talking about? Please advise.0 -

Another line of your typical BS. As usual, you need to study up! I know where to find it Hairy...go to work for a change.0 -
given the conditions in africa, I think in the end, the blacks now benefit from slavery in the end. It may be wrong to think of the burden and cruel treatment of their forefathers as an involentary investment in their future, but thats the way it worked out and it paid off in the end.
Many people have died as a result of our government. Should we give reperations to the millions of families whose family members were killed or disfigured in service to the US of A?
The draft is military slavery, it is involentary service to your country. It was unfair that this specific group was picked for extensive involentary service to our country, but thats the way it was.
It is unfair now, to ask the country to pay for it, especially given the time and significant portion of the population that had nothing to do with it, but that will be paying in taxes for reparations.
Two wrongs dont make a right, no reparations, unless they are exlusively and individually paid out to those who can show their condition is worse from slavery in the US (not better, and recent volentary african descent immigrants are not eligible), from the pockets of those who directly profited from slavery.
It cant be done, there will be no fair reparation system as we have no clear idea of what debt is owed to who by whom0
