shop was robbed
May be old news here. But I was down at my cabin to do some work this weekend and went in town to say high to some people and it appears the local gun shop was robbed. The crooks cut all power to the building and phone lines. Over 40 handguns taken. [:(!][V]

Thats why the alarm system should be a constant response system. Cut the line and the cops will come. 0 -

Not to my knowledge.0 -
Never presume that crooks are idiots. I have known some specialists which will disarm ANY security system in about 5 minutes. I personally know a guy in Russia, who specializes in it. He took down some austrian made security system that reacts to its power being cut. In fact he is very well regarded in some circles in Russia.
In USSR he was Candidate of Science in Electrical Engineering.
Candidate of Science means 7 years of post high school education. Something between Master and PhD.
When "Democratisation" came, he went from being a part of Cultural Elite from Zelenograd, into being rather poor. He didn't take well to that, so he... changed occupations. Now, not only he has challenging job, but also he "Pays back to the traitors that destroyed his country and impovereshed his family and denied him a career that he loved".
I see no reason why someone like him could not do a job on that system.
Remember, the Russian mafia uses an interesting trick. If you only break down the door, it is vandalization of the property. If you enter the home, when the door was broken down, it is a less punishment then breaking and entering. Russian mafia in USA often uses this tactic: One guy breaks the system and opens the door. Then LEAVES. If he is caught it is only a misdemeanor charge. THe other group, enter the house and clean it. If they get caught, they didn't break in, the door is open. You will NEVER proove that there was cooperation. EVER.
I see no reason why other gangs can't pick up that trick.:-).0 -

If you want to imitate Russian accent, do it right:
Da. Vot he sed.
Russians tend to make a sound a distinct one. Instead of ae, we will say E. Instead oa, we will say O or A. In letter Some, we will say SAM (as you would say S.A.M.). We also replace W with V or U. So window turns into VINDOU. They replace oo with u. (long u sound with short u sound) Most importantly, we also replace TH with either Z or D.
"Ze vezer iz veri gud tudei." _ have a russian say that sentence, and you will see every sound that we mangle.:-)0 -

We used to host Russian Fullbright scholars ... what was I thinking![:D]0 -
