Spybot question????
A couple of days ago my Norton AntiVirus decided Spybot was a virus and attacked it. Spybot more or less fought Norton to a draw, but ever since then when I run Spybot I get a message that Blindman has been corrupted and I need to fix it with Update. I can't get Update to do anything.
Spybot still appears to work OK. It finds and deletes a lot of junk the same as it always has.
What is Blindman? What does it do? Do I really need Blindman?

Apple lost me as a customer when I had an Apple IIe. I'd reload the entire system on a PC twice a day before I'd buy another Apple product.
I'll say this for Apple though. They screwed themselves a lot worse than I could ever dream of. They had at least an eleven year lead on PC, and decided they would rather screw individual customers than capitalize on the overall market. Damn near put themselves out of business at one time.
When Microsoft came out with Windows95 they caught up with Apple 1984. Problem was Apple was still in 1984.0 -

Crashes: 0 minutes
Spyware: 0 minutes
Viruses: 0 minutes
Peripherals : 0 minutes
Incompatable Hardware: 0 minutes
Defending Macs to the ignorant: ... years, and years, and years!
Number of family members using Macs: All
... and I'm sticking to my story!
Oh, and now I can suffer from all the ridiculous problems you guys
suffer from if I want ... I've got a few Intel chip Macs!

My wife says I carry a grudge too long. Exxon corporate tried to screw me out of 50? in 1966 and I haven't bought a gallon of Exxon since then. I'd push my truck home first.

When I had my IIe it burned up a resister. I broke out the schematic to get the value of the resister to get it back up and running. That's when I noticed the schematic didn't have anything on it. No information at all.
I took it downtown to a local technician. He called Apple and they told him they wouldn't tell him the value. They wanted to sell me a board for $200.00. I called Apple and got the same story.
They didn't even make IIe's at the time and if the computer had been up and running in good condition it would have been worth maybe ten or fifteen dollars, but they wanted to make a board and sell it to me for $200.00. I asked the technician to make a guess and replace the resister. He must have guessed right. I got it running and gave it to my wife's niece. That's when I bought my first PC.0 -

Norton was causing problems with almost all my software, so I switched to Avast! about 3 years ago, and it's very compatible with Spybot S&D. I'll never use another Symantec product again! McAffee is also a pita.
Had a Lisa years ago, couldn't make Oscar's Place lose what it had accumulated, so I sent it back to Davy Jones' locker. Wozniak, whatta goofball!0 -

I agree---I'd get rid of Norton. It's, also, a resource hog. I switched to Trend Micro 3-4 years ago.0 -

I "Upgraded my Spybot S&D this morning and then tried to run a scan, It continues to Lock up,,,,,,,,,,,,,,so I deleted the whole dam thing and everything works just fine now....... 0 -
If it was hanging up trying to create a restore point you can fix that by clicking "Settings" in the lower left corner, then click the "Settings" icon, then uncheck "Create system restore point when fixing spyware/usage tracks". 0 -
Just reinstall Spybot. 0
