Russia Develops Improved ICBM

MOSCOW - Russia on Tuesday test-launched a new intercontinental ballistic missile, apparently developed secretly, that a top government official said could penetrate any defense system, Russian news agencies reported.
The missile would modernize Russia's stockpile at a time of rising tensions with the West.
"As of today Russia has new (missiles) that are capable of overcoming any existing or future missile defense systems," ITAR-Tass quoted First Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov as saying. "So in terms of defense and security Russian can look calmly to the country's future."
President Vladimir Putin and Ivanov, a former defense minister seen as a potential candidate to succeed the Russian leader in elections next year, have repeatedly said their country would continue to improve its nuclear weapons systems and respond to U.S. plans to deploy a missile defense system in Europe.
The missile capable of carrying multiple independent warheads was fired from a mobile launcher at the Plesetsk launch in northwestern Russia, and its test warhead landed on target about 3,400 miles away on the Far Eastern Kamchatka Peninsula, according to a statement from Russian Strategic Missile Forces.
Ivanov said Russia also successfully tested a tactical cruise missile.

considering that we are deploying a defense system in what are soon to become degenerate islamic theocracies (at the rate Europe is bowing to the towelheads) I don't mind Russia aiming a few ICBMs their way [;)]0 -
I don't quite understand why the US would put a missile defense system in Europe before it installs it throughout the US itself?

a few years ago when we were testing those anti-missile missiles that didn't do so well, the russians saw that as offensive and said that if we tried to upset the balance of strategic nuclear power, they would do something like what you got here.
or did we go and do that because we already knew they were going to improve their offensive capabilities anyways. we'll never know.
MIRV's are nothing new of course. it doesn't say what about them that makes them so 'invincible'. but if they say it is (or will be) capable of defeating any future missile defense systems, I'd at least take that as a serious tactical problem, they usually don't lie about such things.0 -

The system is in Europe, the west coast states and Alaska I thought? - ie in the paths of an incoming ICBMs.
Put them in Europe because Russia is in Europe, shoot them down while they are still lifting off(not in space yet).0
