That's real great...now every single supply convoy on it's way north from Kuwait to the US bases is going to get hammered until they reach Cedar II. I smell American blood on 160* asphalt and sand very soon....[V]

Wasn't it the British "pullout" from the Middle East in the late 40's that started this mess in the first place?

    Sucks Zulu.

My Ex wife was running convoys in Iraq and all those a$$wipes missed her. She is back at her home station alive.

If they couldn't kill her stupid @$$.....don't lose hope.

"The Basra palace had come under near daily rocket and mortar fire from Shiite militias until the British released about 30 gunmen a few months ago and spread the word that they would soon leave.

Over the past years, Britain's ability to control events in Basra waned as the militias rose in power."

If the British released 30 gunmen [terrorists] and spread the word that they would soon be leaving Basra, this means that the British were in negotiantions with the terrorists. They reached an understanding, "You don't shoot at us and we won't shoot at you."
If the Iraq War is as important as Bush says, it is bad news indeed for the premier U.S. ally to behave in this way.

Oh my God! What will this mean to the endless posting of this "Speech the President should give", which pops up three of four times each year:

WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR OUR NEXT PRESIDENT GIVE THE FOLLOWING SPEECH?
And I wouldn't care what party he represented.

    My Fellow Americans:
As you all know, the defeat of Iraq regime has been completed. Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete.

This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq. This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now time to begin the reckoning.

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains! the names of countries that have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short. The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there.

The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most of the world's nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening.

Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war.

No one even noticed when Spain pulled out three years ago, let's see if the departure of the Brits has any impact.

I concur, however, the ME wasn't extensively armed with modern weapons until AFTER 1930.

"Cut and run" is not the term I would use to describe Britain's pullout... thats very disrespectful to an ally who has stood by our side even though they didn't really support this war.
