Same as a 45/70 loaded hot.

I shot one that belongs to a friend. With the nice pad on the stock, the recoil is not that bad. More a hard shove than anything else.

I'll see if I can try it out soon. Couldn't beat it for the price.

I helped my cousin sight one of those in two years ago. To me, it was a real puninsher off the bench. Standing shots felt better. Since "felt recoil" is completely in the shoulder of the beholder, you're gonna just have to shoot it and find out. I decided that 45-70 would be enough for me and if I wanted that kind of abuse, I'd just look up my ex-wife.

Fortunatly I don't have any ex-wives to compare to,still on my first and last. It's been a long time since mt 45-70 shooting days so I'll have to get a refresher course on the 450.

Hey you can stand behind a horse, lift up its tail and "Bam" same feeling as shooting the 450 marlin. The horse kicks you into next week! A gentle shove my butt, damn thing brused my shoulder after two rounds.

My son laughed his rear off when I shot mine. He is about 260 and didn't seem to have much effect from the kick. At least he didn't admit it. I would bet it kicks like a 10 gauge shotgun.[:0][:0]

Shoot it and let me know what you think. Its sure is a nice backup for black bear or ole griz if out hunting Elk or Deer. I imagine it will turn deer into prepackaged sausage![:D]

I recentley found a box of the new Leverevolution ammo at Sportsmans Warehouse and will give that a try in the spring.[:0]

I kinda like my buddy's...but then he had a mercury recoil reducer drilled into the stock and added a thick (1"?) Pachmayr recoil pad...if you decide it's a keeper, it may be something you want to look into.
