I know at least someone here has seen this before... Or got it in an email last year, but I still like it...

Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their ASS, doing drugs, while I work. . . . Can you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check ! ?

+1 I wonder how many Government workers in the welfare dept could pass that test? I suppose they don't want to start that trend with their clients for fear that the rule might spread to them also.

...I agree 100% the recipients of any assistance from lacal, State, Fed programs should have to pee in a bottle to remain eldgeable.

...Im not in agreement however of the $2 pee test either, too many false positives that can and do happen. My X was in charge of a large Co.'s program that handled the results of drug tests when the program was implemented. The reps from the Lab Co. doing the testing gave a percentage of the false positives that would be found. If you happen to be one of "X percent" that fell into the "false positive" group, oh well; no matter your tenure, you were fired on the spot...[;)]

Ahh yes the Drug Free Workplace. Random tests and yearly training (same training each year). Company I work for has it to get some better deal from the Govt. so why not the welfare users.

Urine testing/breathalyzers make for a clean workplace. Very important in critical job descriptions. Joe

PS...don't give U/tests to the general public at large. Money wasted on something the Gov't won't follow up on.

Every lab that gives those tests makes you sign a release stating that they are not responsible for "False positives." If the lab giving the test isn't responsible for their results, then who is?

I think these tests are often used for selective weeding. Those they want to keep will be clean.

I opened my own business, in part, because I find the harvesting of my bodily fluids on demand as an invasion of my privacy. I have nothing to hide either. It is degrading, controlling and crass and many UA's are NOT ACCURATE!! This is another example of the morally bankrupt insurance companies that continue to rape and pillage America.

I was called in on a random test several years back when working for some other rich guy, and told my boss at the time that this was the last one I would ever take, and if he didn't like it, to find someone else! I was a top producer in the State of Texas. I passed the test and he never asked me for another.

If you are doing a good job, then that's all they should need. Not digging through your piss to find out what you do in your spare time.

I will admit that there are some professions for which a UA makes sense. But for the most part they are invasions of my person.

I did like pissing all over the cup and handing it to them...

welfare recipients should have to "pee in da cup" for sure.

john q public should also have to pee in the cup. but it has become socially acceptable to use drugs? we would instantly lose 50% of the workforce should everyone in the country have to pee in the cup.

I also think its "horse dunn" that OSHA and workmans comp. providers require some employers to test But not All of them just the ones they say have to do it.

OH!!! and trust fund babies should also have to pee in a cup every month prior to getting paid... IMHO [}:)]

I'll agree with you 100% on that!

The last place I worked at had to institute some type of drug testing to be compliant with ISO 9001 or some such idiocy. The General Manager and his clique all passed with flying colors! This guy was a coke head! Two years later after he had cleaned out the company coffers and split two DEA guys stopped by asking questions about him!
I don't know why they couldn't find him, He had opened a local bar with the money he had stolen!

BTW Goldenseal was used at one time to mask urine screens!

Damn I stayed up all night and studied for my Urine test.

My job you had to pee and blow at random, I always asked for a mason jar so once I got started I didn't have to stop.[:D][:D][:D][:0][^]

I'd rather see them take a hair follicle test, pull it out of their head on the spot. Urine tests can be faked by using someone else's "clean" urine.

I know the guy at my workplace that administers the urine tests. He knows who the big man is.

The company I work for used to give pee tests before they would give you a raise, they sent me once and I flunked[:0][}:)][:D]
I still got the raise, and am still with the company, they don't send me for tests anymore[:D]

My last Army unit we were required to test monthly. I have even been detailed as an observer a few times. You let the guy get his business out and hand him the jar. He fills it, and hands it back to you. You put the cap on it and remain with him until he finishes, and you return to the NCO in charge and do a change of custody. The bottle is sealed and the donor initials the seal. For those smart asses that peed all over the bottle, I would let them finish and then I would dump their sample and they had to start all over again. Mean? Maybe, but I didn't like doing that job either, and messing with someones body fluids is unsanitary.

I never could figure out who would want to be at work when they had a buzz? Any where but at work.

I work around alot of drugs. People sometimes get caught using them. Some people you can tell are users of street drugs not pharmcutical grade. I was once told my employer wont test cause they are afraid to lose so much of their workforce and look bad in the public eye. Since Ive been there many people get caught using but noone gets charged. Just termed. I would welcome the drug test cause Im clean but some Id like show for what I suspect to be.
