After living in Memphis for 8 years, I can agree with you. BUT....they also have BETTER dry rub ribs!

For wet, I still go to the "Cozy Corner." Little dump near St. Thomas hospital in a bad bad part of town. But that guys ribs are unreal. Also does a mean bbq bologna and a wonderful bbq game hen.

For dry, not many can beat Corky's. The Rendousvous is not bad, but like Corky's better. On Friday The Rendousvous serves a mean red beans and rice though! [:p]

They may have internet now, but I also wonder if they have indoor plumbing yet or are the folks from Tennessee still running to the outhouse?

Why do you think Sears mails more of their catalogs to TN than any other state? [:o)] The pages might be kinda rough, but they still beat corn cobs!! [:p]

Actually I'd think all the gloss on those pages would make them slick and not very absorbant! [:p]

Actually I think there are probably more members from TN than any other state except for maybe Texas..Of course that's only right. Texas and Tennessee have been leading in everything for eons...

Then there is Joelton, Tenn. Old Gunner. Settled thousands of years ago by Scottish immagrants that crossed the land bridge.

When first I came to Joelton my fortune there to find,
I met some jolly countrymen, on barbecue we dined.
The talk soon turned to manly sport as the old style we chugged.
They said lad you have not lived till you have salt the slug.

We raised high our shakers full of Morton's finest grain.
We crept out to the garden damp the creature there to find.
We watched each creature swell and pop, did thrill me to the core.
And every slug did learn that night that when it rains it pours.

So if you're e'er in Joelton, quaffing chilly brew.
And hearty lads and lassies fair do salt a slug or two.
Pray join the sporting company forsaking sex and drugs.
God bless us jolly salterers and have pity on the slugs

Of course anyone from Tenn would know (as the writer of the above did not) that salting the slug will not cause it to swell and pop, but rather to shrivel and wither as the fluids are drawn from its' tiny innocent body.

He Dog, I ain't Scottish so much, but my Irish ancestors got here about the same time if I remember correctly..hehehe. Lived in these hyar mountains fer a mighty long time.

About them slugs now..Ya right, they jest dries up in one big hurry. Sometimes dozens of 'em in one dried up sluggish pile. Beer gits 'em too, but I rather have slugs than run outta Killians.
