I bought this tractor when I was 26 for $375.00., I'm now 67. I sure hope it will last me. I think the extended warantee is over. It's a 1951 8N. I took these pictures this morning.
You just never know if them there Fords are going to last.[;)]0 -

I respect their decision not to take the government carrot and then have to suffer the burden of the ensuing yoke, as GM has.

Yup, and the surprising thing ia that those old Fords are still highly in demand. A tractor ahead of its time -- back then. Now mostly make you wish you had a tractor if you have any work to do.
When I was a teenager, used to cultivate with one of those -- two row equipment. Got rid of my dad's old Ford about 3 years ago.0 -

What a nice little tractor! You can't beat them little 8N Fords. I was out doing a little of that snow pushing this morning as well, however my right chain was giving me a fit, and the nieghbor saw me struggling. He came over with his tractor and finished up for me. Very nice guy, retired Trooper. Anyhow here's a picture of mine I took last fall. Love them IH's! 0 -
It takes a lot to make my old heart smile. This did it. [:)][:)] I drove your old Ford tractor's sister around for years while growing up. Then, one morning, she wasn't under the old pecan tree where she was normally parked. [:(!][:(!] My dad and I tracked her across the desert, south to the mexican border and to the spot where the fence had been torn down. The tracks continued on into mexico.....My dad reported it to the authorities, but nothing ever became of it. [V][V]

wundudnee, whats at that white stuff down there......we have not had much more than a dusting all winter......last six for that matter.
I'd ike to find me a 730 JD of cource[:D]....we used to have one years ago seen one in a parade last year all dolled up.....man that was a sharp tractor...chrome straight pipe and ect.0 -
When I was working for state parks about 30 years back, we had a Ford LCG, but I forget the model number. It was a nice piece of equipment.
I disagree with the statements that Ford no longer builds quality. I am not familiar with the smaller cars, but there is not a better car in assembly line production than our '99 Crown Victory nor a pickup better than our '86 F350 4x4 460.0
