Crashed my bike.

Before you guys tell me how dangerous crotch rockets are. I crashed my mountain bike. Last night hit a rock in the road. I didn't see it. My headlight went dead and it was dark.
I hit it hard enough to throw me from my bike, but I landed in the grass. I had to laid there for awhile, it knock the air out of me. I didn't get a scratch and actually wasn't hurt at all, so I thought. This morning my neck is killing me. I must of I hit my head and pulled my neck or something. I did have a helmet on.
I'm really in some great pain this morning. It's all I can too just to hold my head up to type this.
I'm suppose to go and do some work on a house today. Which will include driving a truck and trailer. Right now I'm not even sure how I'm going to turn my head to see the trailer to hook it up.
It's going to be a long day.

Anyone with advice on how to make the pain go away?

    advil..and a super hot shower to loosen you up and do some stretches..to limber you up also..glad you weren't hurt Traci..[;)][8D]..Loko

    ya go see a doc. have your neck checked to be on the safe side
    hope its nothing a littl time wont heal.

    you may have actually broken your neck..I took a date to a "HEAD-BANGER" concert 15 years ago, and she just HAD to try "CROUD-SURFING".
    I told her it wasn't a good idea,,, but....Sure-enough, she got dropped on her head.
    Same as you,, nothing but an "egg" on her head until the AM....
    She had (after gettin X-Rays, broken a piece off of one of her neck bones...SHe still has nerv pinch problems to this day.
    Neck injurys are not to be taken lightly,if it still hurts this evening, you should seriously think about getting X-rays...Just mu .2 cents...

    Thanks now I'm in pain and scared poopless.
    I may go to the hospital. If it keeps on hurting. I'm hoping it gets better once I get moving around and take a hot shower.

    Really though, sorry about the wreck. Hope everything is still where is should be.

    That sucks.
    When I crash I leave the pain alone even though the doctor gives me vicodin.
    I want to feel the pain so I dont try to do something that will aggrivate the injury.
    Atleast you were wearing a helmut.

    Alleve will dim the muscle hurt, Hot shower will help with bone ache, Then use Tiger Balm, or Icy/Hot, or Atomic Balm, and wear a scarf/muffler or bandage, to keep it hot. Unless your helmet hit hard enough to get damaged, you probably didn't break anything. Just a real good muscle sprain trying to keep your head off the ground.

    For backing up - have a spotter and use your mirrors a lot.

    Get better.

    You should atleast get an x-ray to see if it is a fracture or just soft tissue damage i.e. bruising. One you want to immobilize and the other you want to keep it flexible during the healing process. You won't know which to do without the x-ray.

    Been there more than once!!! Glad you are OK...I always liked night riding.... Saw the most spectacular shooting star one time on a night ride. It was so big it's path spanned nearly the entire horizon before it burned out...Totally Awesome!!!

    My neck was alot better after a hot shower. I manage to talk one of the guys into driving and one of the other guys ask me to if I wanted a neck rub on the trip. So I had it made.[8D]
    I came home exhausted. I did alot of cutting with an ax. Cutting trees with an ax is very hard work. I really need/miss a chainsaw.
    Neck is better but I have couple of blisters on my hand now.[V]
