Got me my canoe!!

Found a good deal on a really nice fiberglass canoe in the local trading post. Only had to drive 10 miles to pick it up. It's a Cranberry Creek "Marshlander" canoe with square stern. Rated for a 4 hp motor and 750 pounds, as well as being a handy 12'9" and weighing only 60 pounds. They guy won it at a Wildlife banquet and seeing he already had a small jon boat he had no need for it and never used it. Best parts are that I bought it for half the price I would new from a store and it was hand made in Cadott, WI(only 15 min. from where I grew up).

    awesome...It is very hard to get a man off a good canoe... at least around here it is...

    Yeah, I should really just remove the link. Seems like half the time I try and go on it, it doesn't work. Haven't been able to get on it to update it for quite a while either. Oh well I guess. I will have pics of the canoe posted as soon as I can get them. Haven't decided what I am going to do about a motor yet, but I am for sure going to get a little 2 or 4 horse that is lightweight and portable. Any suggestions?

    One motor to look at is a Honda BF2. It weighs 30 LB full of fuel and oil, is a four stroke, has a centrifugal clutch and is air cooled. On my 12ft aluminum boat top speed is 5.6mph(by GPS), on a canoe probably about 7mph. It holds a quart of fuel. Last time I used it I put 32oz of fuel in it and ran it for a measured 6 miles. When I got home I pulled the remaining fuel out and measured it. I had only used 19oz in 6 miles. The only downside is that they're expensive.
