Buy a Marlin lever-action for $400, cut off the barrel and stock, and add a big-ring lever. You could make three of 'em for what those folks want for one of theirs. 0 -

Chuck used a Model 1892 Winchester carbine, not cut down. There's an article about it and picture in last month's Guns & Ammo mag.0 -

Exactly. I thought pistols were not allowed to have shoulder-stocks or it would be considered an NFA weapon. If you like that then check this out: http://www.wildwestguns.com/Bushwacker/bushwacker.html
In order to be a "pistol" the receiver would have to be registered as a pistol and you couldn't have a shoulder stock. That's why you can't throw short little barrels on AR-15 type rifles or you could just call it a pistol. I think the website is a bit misleading.0 -

A handgun has to be initially built as a handgun from the receiver up. Once a rifle, always a rifle and you can't legally convert one to a pistol-period.

I met the guy at the Tulsa show. Nice fit and finish.
I've seen better bluing though.
Several calibers. Kinda unhandy for aiming. They are made to shoot from the hip.
He wanted about $1,200 for 'em.0
