Do you get a "physical" at least once a year?
This question is for both "guys and gals". Do you get a "complete physical", at least, once a year?

I got one about 10yrs ago. I had to for a job..... and it was not a "complete" one.
BTW I am a medic. Doesn't seem to make me any smarter though [:D]0 -
I don't want to (because they always find something I don't want to know about) but the doctor makes me.[V]
Dadgum his hide![}:)]0 -
Yep, even though I am retired, the Union pays for both of us to take a trip to San Fran and get a physical each year. It is not a real in-depth one, but includes Sight, hearing and pretty extensive blood work, along with a chest x-ray, and breast exam for my Wife.
Oh Yeah, EKG and urinalysis also.0 -
Never. Remember that statistic about doctors accidentally killing 7,000 times more people than gun owners? I can't take that kind of a chance. 0 -
No. I do get a DOT physical every two years. Basically if you can see OK and your blood pressure is good, you're in. Gotta pee in a cup too; no blood work.
I'm healthy as a horse thoough so no worries!0 -
Complete? I do go see my doc every year, but all he does is listen to my heart and lungs and stick his finger someplace. Is that a physical? 0 -
I last saw a Dr. for a job related physical in 1991. Guess I'm due for a tune up, but I normally resist seeing them unless I have to. 0 -
One of my brothers in law (I have five) is an MD so I get a complete physical every year and every year its the same thing:
"Mike, you need to get your weight down to under 200 pounds".
I then tell him he needs to quit smoking and we leave it at that.0 -
had one when discharged U.S.Army 1966 had another one 2002 is that often enough[?] Last prescription med 1958 sick days off from work 4&1/2 since 1966 but 1 & 1/2 of those was Broke leg [}:)]damn sorry about those other 3days Boss 0 -
Yep. Once past 50, every man should. Saved my life this year. Spent the summer in radiation therapy. Physical every year and keeping track of PSA tests found a problem that was easily fixed. Waiting several years between physicals would have been a different story. It won't kill you to get a phys. every year. It may kill you if you don't. 0 -
No. 0 -
I get a Physical Health Assessment/Occupational Health Exam(PHA/OHE) once a year. They usually end up being just a urine test or blood test. 0 -
Required by work.
I'm on the HazMat and Medic teams.
Chest Xrays
Bloodwork
EKG's
The works.0 -
No, I ain't paying them blood-sucking leaches one dime more than I have to. Ya, I know it might kill me. 0 -
Over 50 so once a year, track other things as recommended. I would rather pay the doctor than the undertaker. Yearly includes blood work (extensive), blood pressure, rate, ears, chest and prostate exam. Vision and dental are separate. I believe is finding out if there is a problem as early as possible so the corrective action is as small as possible. Good health to all! 0 -
The last time I hd a complete physical was on Nov 3rd, 1993. I was discharged form the Army 2 days later. There is no use for the doctors, they tell me things I already know (gee Bryant, your back is in realy bad shape) and they just try to cram a bunch of pills at me that never work. 0 -
Get one every year. Different problems have been found and taken
care of with little to no pain.0 -
I'm 67 and have gotten a physical every year for years. The basic stuff plus blood work.I don't want any surprises so I keep track of things. So far so good, only aches and pains that go with the territory. I am very glad I had a colonoscopy a few years back as they found a precancerous growth that they removed. I was told had I waited another year I would be wearing a bag. NO THANKS! I have a "scope job" every 3 yrs now and they remove a couple small polyps each time. There is no warning for thoses things, get scoped if you are over 50. 0
