looking for an outdoor range near....

yesterday, crystal and i went to a different shop (vance's on cleveland ave.). we initially went to find some cheaper ammo for my pistol when we started looking at the rifles. found a nice mossberg .22 and an old winchester .22 that i was going to get. then she saw the mosins behind the counter. and what the hey we bought one ( 89.99 + tax, 7.62x54, 100 rounds, and stuff). now we need a place to play. any ideas?

It looks like the closest range to you is the Deer Creek Wildlife Area range, just southwest of grove city. I've never been to a DNR shooting range so I cant tell you how good it is. But, you will need a shooting permit (available online) to access the range. You can buy either a 1-day permit or a full year permit.
I'm from east of Columbus - the range I go to is roughly 50 miles east of Columbus (Dillon Sportsmen's Area, near Zanesville) which is a decent public range. Its only open Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. Last time I was there, it was $4.50 an hour to shoot.0 -

thanks for all the input. we did find a nice range over by zanesville ohio called "briar rabbit"
nice outdoor range. has rifle, shotgun, and several pistol lanes. they have comps going quite often and the man that owns it is really cool. funny as hell too. access is open 7 days 9-5. no check in. must have a membership to access the rifle range but @ $140 per year i'm not gonna complain (especially since he only charged us $100...her boobs can get ya a good discount sometimes...heheheeee). i already paid that at the indoor range for my pistol anyway. it takes me about 45 min to drive, but it's a nice one.
btw....crystal loves the m44. i can't seem to wipe the grin off her face.[:D] guess i gotta get one now too hehee. put a nice little bruise on her shoulder. plus we met some nice guys there that let us shoot their glock 26 and buschmasters....now i gotta get one of them too[:p].
