One time Dad and I were traveling somewhere early, before sun-up and
there wasn't much traffic. We were going through a small town, and
Dad was mid-way in blowing a stop light. I was slumped over on the
passenger side, and woke just in time to see this. While pretending
to still be asleep I made the most convincing distant siren sounds
ya ever heard. The look on his face, and tap of the brakes was priceless. Needless to say, I lost it.[:D][8D][:D][8D]

My father loved to plant things and when we bought our first home (in Chicago), he lovingly created eight beds for roses. He banked the dirt all up and nice, added his "special mix" of nails and fish heads, and planted the rose bushes.

Having nothing to do, I decided they looked like freshly covered graves. So I made eight crosses and planted them at the head of each one.

I still laugh at the expression on his face when he went to the back porch to see "his" garden. He wasn't amused or forgiving.

this got me thinking, i may have not pulled much on my dad, but he did every chance he got, true story, mean but true

my second cousin{dads cousin}, wound up marrying the biggest, most annoying beach in the country, her and my dad never did get along, well she was superstitious like old lady Winchester, they lived pretty far in the country, and she had a small path through the woods to get to the road to retrieve the mail, so my wise azz dad decides to go out and have a grave marker made with her name on it, and a up coming date, of course when found it went nuts, never spoke to him again, i don't think it could have turned out better in his eyes

    Fixed it for you .

I have too many . ( I mean really there are too many, there should be fewer , I was a rotten kid )

As a young lad I was taking trombone lessions and hated them , so I would learn my lession and after it sounded pretty good I'd record it....then play it back through my very good for the time stereo . Then I would have an hour of free time to do as I pleased .

One night dad thought I sounded very good and opened the door to tell me and found me at the window talking to a friend .

I think I still have scar-tissue on my butt from that night spank2.gif.

I must say it worked great for about 7 months .

    SxS

PS Hard to believe it's been almost 30 years since his death and over 40 years since my mother passed , and I'm a few years away from 50 .
Ahhh to think of all the crap I pulled that they never got to hear about [:)].

Tis a good thing . They might have died sooner.....

Dove hunting w/ my Dad about 5 years before he passed on- he was ALWAYS short of birdshot, and "borrowing" a few rounds. "Loaned" him some of my reloads. Special reloads. #0 birdshot- no shot, 3 wads.

Lord knows I tried, but my dad was a cop and I had two older, brothers. I didn't stand a chance. We had Pop over for dinner tonight. I'm learning to cherish every moment I spend with him. I don't want to think of a world where I can't just drop over to Mom and Pop's house and spend a few hours talking guns or history or music.

Back on topic, that was a terrific story. I laughed hard.

we used to go skeet shooting at our little piece of paradise we had to hunt, 100 pvt. farm with full run as we pleased. We would take 9 rds with us out in to the field to practice passing shots instead of your typical bird flying away from you... there was a fairly decent crowd there that day shooting with us, i looked everyone and asked if they wanted to see something funny, so i lowered the trap and set the clay pigeon further up on the arm and sent one about 4 ft over dads head, needless to say he dusted it and rained #8 shot down on our heads , we all had a good laugh, everytime we had a decent crowd after that i'd always sail one just over head height at dad for grins

Dad and I were returning from a hunting trip and he had to pee real bad. There wasn't much traffic and we were out in the middle of nowhere so I stopped and he got out and started to relieve himself. I couldn't resist. I drove away and left him standing there, all alone, with Johnson in hand, peeing all over the shoulder. I backed up and let him back in and he was laughing as hard as I was. He liked a good joke too, even if he was the object of it.
