Anybody used overnight shipping lately?
I have a small box, 18x13x13 that's going to be about 3 lbs and needs to be shipped overnight. It's going from NW IL to Oklahoma. I do not have a Fedex or UPS location near me and USPS isn't an option because they can't gurantee overnight to the location. They will need to pick up the package at my house.
For the third option, standard overnight shipping for this 3 lb. package, I'm getting quotes from 72 to 84 dollars!!!!! I was not expecting shipping to be this bad when I made the sale. 40 dollars was factored in for shipping because that was plenty for overnight in the past.
Is it really THIS outrageous now?

Think about how much $ in gas it would take to drive from IL to OK. 0 -
Yeah, but they're not making a special trip for me. They have thousands of trucks on the road already. I'm not paying for a trip from IL to OK. 0 -

In their eyes, they are making the trip for you. They dont care, its all about the demand. if you ened it shipped, you KNOW you wont take it, so they can charge whatever they want
thats why you invest in a private jet!0 -
I just ordered a book,42.95 fedex from AZ. I need the book so I pay. 0 -
It cost me nearly 20 bucks to overnight a flat envelope (containing just a CD). The envelope probably weighed more than what was inside it. 0 -

I just second day mailed a letter envelope and it was over 16.00
and it only had to go 2 states from me.0 -
If you're using a private shipping outlet rather than a FedEx facility, they generally charge you DOUBLE the actual rate.
Check the actual rate at http://www.fedex.com/ratefinder/home?cc=US&language=en&lid=//Ship//Express+Rates+Corp0 -
Rates went up a while ago. I found out yesterday, mailing USP 2 golf clubs from Florida to Colorado $25 no insurance slowest rate. Compare to shipping a shotgun to Hawaii 2 momths ago with insurance for $35 priority. 0
