So we all know about the plane crash at SFO. I just wonder how the survivors are processed? I mean, do they still go thru customs? Lost/destroyed passports and Id's in the wreckage.

I would assume they would have to go to the nearest embassy to get new ID's? Yes? No?

  If the goverment wants us to turn in all firearms will they pay you money or will they ask for mass turn ins??

  Wrong question. Most would ask what is the best way to hide my guns from the gubment ? I hope it never comes to that. The anti gunners will do it a little at a time.No gun laws until the 1930s before that I think you could own pretty much anything you wanted. since the 1930s new anti gun laws have been passed especially after 1968.

  If we all sit back on our butts this country will come to that.There are about 90,000,000 gun owners in the US,if we all voted we could stop the gun grabbers in their tracks.Unfortuatly most just sit and cry about the situation and do nothing.It is time to get up and do everything possible to stop the gun grabbers.Call, write,and email your legislatures, let them know how you feel.Don't just sit back and complain,DO SOMETHING.We are fighting some really bad bills in CT right now.None of these will,if passed have any impact on crime, but the democrats are pushing anyway. We are fighting back.

  i highly doubt the government will pay anything at all for our guns, much less fair market value. it would be interesting to see how the laws come out regarding possesion once banned. would it be a misdemeanor or a crime. minor punishment or major incarceration. i think it would also be quite interesting to see if all the "i'll take up arms against my government if they try to take my guns" are full of it. i can say personally that if, after appropriate legislation is passed to prohibit personal arms, i will not shoot the police officer that comes to get my guns. i certaintly wont be happy about it, but i think its insanity to murder, and thats what it would be, murder an officer of the law charged with executing their duty because i dont agree with it. thats absouletly out of the question. i also wont try to hide my guns, because they know what i have, what you have and what everybody else has. remember when you filled out that 4473? whether or not your required to register in your state, dont you think they know whos, if not currently posses, at least bought what.
  
  i also think the idea that our government really cares what their constituency feels is outdated. they dont. they make decisions based on what they think is in the greater good of the people at large. sure your local representative might care, but is his voice enough to change the mind of the government at large? i dont think so.
  
  EDIT: i dont agree with this btw, its just how i read the situation. it is my feeling that every citizen not oterwise prohibited form owning firearms, should be able to own whatever they want. pistols, rifles, high cap low cap, full auto single shot. anything. sadly, this is not the case

  They won't pay for them, look at the defecit now they have no money.
  They will however make it against the law to own any and lock you up as they find them in you posession as they now know what you do onw and where to come looking for you to pick them up.

  If it ever came to that, and since I am a gun owner, and a dealer I would definately hide my firearms and burn all my 4473 and bound books. If they are going to turn me into a criminal, then what difference will it make if I follow BATFE's law and maintain records. I'd still be a criminal. It would also protect my customers right to bear arms.

  I only have two guns, both single shots of course. I sold all the others, I seem to have lost the receipts though. So if the Govies think its best that I hand them over I will gladly do so. [;)][^]

  I have a close friend who is a police officer and he says that he swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, and, if ordered, he would refuse to comply with any command to confiscate or pick up firearms owned by non-felons. None of his fellow officers would, either.
  
  My four Sons, who are/were military, say that they wouldn't do it, either. Also, their friends and acquaintances in the Service would not.
  
  I think that if the libs try to do that, they will be creating a calamity for themselves.
  
  They will, however, continue to grind away at ALL of our Rights.
  
  I'm pretty old, and I've led an interesting life. I'm ready to die defending my beliefs - and I think that there are millions more who would.

  Wrong. They don't keep track of who owns what unless it's a Class 3 item. Ask anyone who has an FFL and has had to call the FBI or State for background checks on a firearm. If you listen when your FFL is calling something in for you, they don't mention how many, what kind, serial numbers, etc. All they do is give them your personal information, the person on the other end types it all up in a computer, and it says "yes" or "no".

  They do state long gun or handgun. but that is all.

  Illinois has it figured out. They don't register the gun, they register the gun owner that way they know exactly where to go. Anyone who owns, transport, buys a firearm or ammunition in Illinois must have a FOID card. That's a commie state about as bad as Kalifornia.

  so they have a record of your gun purchases. maybe not specifically what was purchased, but a record that a hudred such purchases were made. so the law is passed and they start going around. maybe they have the forthought to secure a search warrant prior to showing up at your door the first time. they show up with the p-work in order and search your house. their warrant covers any and all places you might conceal a gun(which, in the case of handguns, is evry room in the house. every drawer, closet, box, gun safe etc.) they seize everything they find. then its over and your unarmed.
