Besides simply issuing these weapons out, it involves obtaining lots of related equipment (ammunition, web gear, magazines, cleaning gear, etc.), conducting operater/armorer training and setting up logistic support.

I've got an idea! Why don't we take a tiny fraction of the billions we're sending over there (or of what this shopping list consists of) and build a gun manufacturing facility or at the least an ammunitions plant for them? That way, they can BUY THEIR OWN materials, hire and train their own citizens to work there and become self sufficient FOR A CHANGE.
Or can we expect them to submit Christmas 'wish lists' to us and have the US tax payers foot the bill to fulfill them forever? This is BS. [:(!]

Besides this, without complete US supervision for eternity, do they realize how many of these weapons will end up selling on the black market, likely ending up in the hands of terrorists? Some general will end up with an entire batch of something, keep some for himself, give others to family and friends and sell the rest to the first suit case of cash.
Wouldn't be surprised if some crates end up 'missing' before the shipments even hit their destinations.
Mean while, we're the ones paying for it.0 -
