I thought he kept saying last season was going to be it? I knew he wouldn't quit until he passes Aaron now. Hard to pass up 15.8 mil though, too.

I'm not much of a baseball fan but at least they play something close to 89 games in a yaer. Which averages out better $ per game the some football players for what 16 games a year. Give me hockey year round. 0 -

This was back in 04', well before they won the superbowl.
Now, I'm a Colts fan and I like Manning. But if you figure it out by what he's making per game, keep in mind the bye week and the fact that they usually have things wrapped up by week 17 so he doesn't even play that week.... tack on an average of 2 games in the play offs. That's 17 hours of game clock time, in which he actually plays roughly half of that time. Times 7 seasons = 119 hours of game time that he's remotely involved in, not including the times he sits out the 4th quarters.
So, basically, he makes 1.11 million per game...for 7 years. He's making 308 dollars every time a second ticks off the game clock. Now this is getting excessive.
At least they got a superbowl win out of it.0 -

Baseball awards/contracts are amusing. If you look at the hits Alex Rodriguez got, even in his "MVP" year you will see that most of them made no difference to the outcome of the game; near as I can tell he's the biggest choker in the known world. If your team is down by a run, there's a guy on third and A-Rod is coming up to bat, you better hope that there's less than two outs- if not, you might as well start walking to the shower, because very shortly the game will be final.
