Gunshow came into town today trying to trade my rifle (it was a 1949, .303 Cal Indian Ishapore Lee-Enfield). I didn?t have anything in mind but a man came up with a Universal M1 Carbine. I thought it was to good to be true, he told me he bought it in the early 70s and it was a commercial copy but other than that didn?t know anything else about it.

I decided to go with the trade, thing looked like it hadn?t been cleaned in a while but I wanted an M1. Got home and took it apart and to my surprise the barrel is USGI (flaming bomb stamp), and some other parts are USGI marked.

From what I can gather there were three generations of Universal carbines and the first generation (this one) uses surplus M1 Carbine parts from WW2 and Korea. Now, was it a steal or did I come out fairly even in trade?

Just picked up some .375 H&H ammo for $25 a box.[:p] My favorite gunshop has had them sitting on the shelf for quite a while now, but I hadn't had a .375 until recently. They are discontinued(and he got them on a closeout deal some time ago), but I got 4 boxes so I should be set for quite some time. PMC 270 grain Barnes X bullet.

    Local logging Co.

(I used to be a Heavy Equipment operator at the local Sawmill, so I know these Guys.)

Will cut down several large White Oaks, and a couple large pines that are uncomfortably close to, and overhanging the House in back, for the logs.

Although I would love to have the Firewood for my Woodstove, (would be prob. 3-4 yrs worth of Firewood, easy.)

I'd feel a whole lot more comfortable with these trees not overhanging my house.

    Would you do it?

    I'm thinking Yes.

I'm sorry I did not get them to do it a few months ago, when they cleared a lot close to me, and took down several large trees off of neighors property with same arrangement.

I'm somewhat familiar with what these logs would be worth at the Sawmill, so these guys will make out okay.

Would probably be cheaper than me hiring soneone to take them down and leave them lay, for me to cut up.

Pretty sure I know what to do here. Just looking for input from Members.

Went to the flea market, don't matter now since it's in my hands, but oh well. Got a Simmons compact 2.5x20 scope with what looks like weaver style rings (top half of the "ring" comes off). I can't find none like it on the web, so I believe it's older. Has a number under the name and magnification, says #21005. I dunno, is that a serial number (who puts serial #s on scopes?) or a model number. But, got them both for $15.

We need a bigger truck, so I decided we also needed to sell the Cadillac DeVille. It's a 2003 with 49k in excellent condition. I originally listed it at $13,800 which seemed to be the going rate. Had it listed for 2 months and not a single bite. Reduced it to $13,000 for a couple weeks and still nothing.

Well, we need a heavier truck...and not 3 years from now either. So I re-listed it for $9,500. In two hours I had two very interested party's.

The first guy said he was coming over to buy it this morning (rancher from east of here). I had told him, since he asked first he'd get first shot at it. He was pleased.

$9,500 is below wholesale. Sorry to see it go because it's a great car, but like I said we need a (another) truck. Prolly could have sold it for more, but time is no longer on my side.

    Good deal?

Is this a good deal for this gun? also could someone tell me what a "Wislon Combat Brake" is? This ad was in my local trade paper.
(I've got a Colt Match Target AR-15 with 20" 1 in 7 barrel. Has Wilson Combat brake. Shoots excellent, looks like new. Asking $900.00 or any reasonable offer.)

Guy from work wants to sell a Winchester 670 for $300. Rifle is in good shape but I was not that intrestead at first cause I thought it was in .30-06 like all the other ones I have seen. Turns out his is in .225, dont know much about the caliber but cant find a 670 on the auction side so is it more valuable then the other ones in .30-06 and .243?

I found these at 3A6D722E-D110-463A-A152-D290D50C0E0D_zpsgynkievh.jpg[/URL] wal mart today for $11.87 plus tax. Less than $13. I thought the price was wrong but you know how berzerk wm employees go when you a simple commoner speaks up about a pricing error.

So i just bought them and left. The reason i think the price was wrong is because the 2 3/4 9 pellet ammo is the same price as 3" 15 pellet ammo.

    Anyways good deal or not?

I just purchased this AK and all of stuff shown. 970 rounds of ammo are in the box and the mags. The gun only had 30 rounds put through it. The finish is in excellent condition. I gave $600 for it. Was this a good or bad deal? A bayonet and its sheath came with it also but I forgot to get it in the picture.

Not sure of the model but have a savage synthetic non accutrigger 300 win mag for sale around me. Would you pick it up for 200? I have no need for it but figured at 200 I'd be making a good deal.

Considering the current going rate that is not a bad price. GOOD deal, notihing special, but if you need it that is about as good as anyhing else.

I would say good/great price. $159/1000 WITH shipping included...is $8/box of 50.....would be a great price for me...as no sales tax would come into play as well (another 7.3% - it all adds up!).
