Barry Bond's ball catcher just on TV ....
Said he really didn't know much about the significance of that ball
when he caught it - doesn't go to many games!
He's put the ball in a safety security box - doesn't know if he's going
to keep/sell it. Doesn't really know what it's worth.
..... what a guy!

We discussed it at length on the air this morning. The consensus was that we couldn't wait until A-Rod or somebody belted past Bonds' record so we could get back to enjoying baseball. 0 -
Yep - the 'San Diego consensus' is the guy's 100% bogus!

I think Bonds has gotten a bum rap. He has been convicted of steroids in the press, but in fact he has taken the same tests as everyone else and has passed them all. He says he has never knowingly taken steroids, and I am willing to believe him.
Let's face it, baseball and Selig, the worst commissioner of all time, have essentially said it is bad, then turned a blind eye to steriod use. They sure loved it when Bonds and Sosa were on the 60 run shoot-out, because of all the attention baseball got.
I say Bonds is innocent and Selig is a pimp.0 -
Name some other hitters who's stats have gone WAY up from the age
of 27 to 37.
... just curious.

I don't follow the stats and could not guess Zipper. But if a guy passes all the tests, then I think condeming him based on guesses and innuendo is wrong. As far as baseball pretending innocense, that is wrong too. 0 -

before and after....cheater0 -
Pete Rose proved that there is nothing illegal/unexplained in baseball!

no one would ever cheat for millions of dollars, it just doesn't happen that way[}:)] 0 -
That's what Rose said! LOL

how about BABE RUTH
http://www.baseball-reference.com/r/ruthba01.shtml
here are his stats check out from 1922 (age 27) through 1932 (age 37) he hit 524 hrs from the age of 27-37, the other 190 hrs where before or after this time.0 -
Bond underwent massive muscle and weight gain later in life, I believe after he was thirty years old. This is not natural.
Also, his home run numbers increased accordingly.
Sorry, He Dog, got to disagree, this guy is loaded up with steroids. A cheater.
It is a shame for a guy like Hank Aaron who broke the record playing fairly.0 -
Good post od. We know why the Babe had these #'s. As a kid he was a pitcher - then there is that getting old thing.
zap, it's too bad that so much money is involved. If the ball would have been tossed back on the field - too cool!0 -
So steroids helps you keep your eye on those 100 mph fastballs and improves your ability to know when to swing the bat.[;)] 0 -

If it is a bum rap... Someone sure wants to make him look guilty... That plus that fact that he would be the only human to ever live to generate that much mass at his age sure makes you wonder. Although I'll admit it probably isn't imposible, for I used weight training for thirty years myself. But then there a at least 8 witnesses that have testified that they were either involved in or had 1st hand knowledge of Bond's steriod abuse!
Personally I think he is guilty...
Here is the best report that I have seen on the matter!!

Elkoholic: That pic is hilarious! I've always known there was a huge discrepancy but never seen the pics side by side. I have a few of his rookie cards and I knew he was scrawny.
Maybe he just started hitting the gym and the protein shakes harder? [:D]0
