I just went through the same thing in January and I went with the LINKSYS. I got it at Bestbuy for $49 and it works great. I'm sitting on the back deck now. 0 -

Looking forward to the answers to this also, and I too am
considering high speed, and recently bought a toshiba laptop (vista)
that I'd like wireless on.0 -
I've heard Lynksys (sp?) is pretty good. Was also told they are all pretty much the same. 0 -
I don't have wireless, but do have cable. I don't have near the patience for dial-up or even dsl. 0 -
I use a Belkin router. Has always worked perfectly for me. Must just be me, but I've never had luck with Lynksis. I've bought two of their routers and neither ever got connection. 0 -
I also got a linksys that I couldn't get to work. Called them to help me set it up and after about 20 minutes of "....try this" , the guy said".....I guess it is not compatable with your system.", and he hung up on me.
Got a Netgear and everything hooked up automatically, no problems at all.

We've got a Linksys wireless LAN router that has 4 ports for a hard network and 2 antenna for the wireless. Capable of 11.0 Mbps network speed. 0 -
i use a linksys, but they are all the same for the most part.
a conspiracy theorist i know came up with, well, a theory on this. he said that certain routers wont work with certain systems becuase some parent companines, for example and example only, linksys routers and dell systems. i had an hp box that worked pisser with one touch setup using the linksys router. bought the dell box and havent been able to get the linksys to work. put a netgear router in and voila, no problem whatsoever. he tjeorizes that its because dell and linksys have a feud going and dell put propriatery(sp) software in it to prevent use of their gear. i personally dont believe this, but it is a theory.0
