    Holy sheep bababooey...

Illinois needs a revolution up there to una$$ Daley and Blagovich. These two run the state like is it their own personal country. People want to bash Bush about trashing the Constititution? These two use it to wipe their a$$es with.

Damn glad I live in a state that likes firearms...

Guess its a matter of priorities.

More important to get those killer guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens than locking up child molesters.

..Interesting that when I contacted my reps in DC concerning HR 1022 and requested responses, I heard nothing. My reps in Springfield, about this one, e-mailed back within a couple hours. There may be hope.

The government is striving for an unarmed population. That's why it's a priority. There is no other answer that I can come up with. I've tried.
They don't need to worry about child molesters. They won't ever affect them so they don't care. They don't care how many thousands of Americans are killed in countless other preventable ways every year. All the rest doesn't matter. As long as they can unarm everyone and turn the place into a police state. Stupid, content, morons will keep electing them (or help by not voting at all).

The people won't care until the government starts performing random house to house searches, kicking in doors in the middle of the night. In the name of 'security' of course.

Cook County rules Illinois, unfortunately this has a serious chance of becoming State law. Fortunately, many other States have advanced in the area of pro gun legislation.

Well, we just sent the last governor to prison. Who knows who could be next? Still a lot of shady business going on I hear.

I can't believe the Feds haven't found enough dirt on Dailey to put him away. He SHOULD be in prison! A normal person would be by now. Instead, people hail him as some type of hero. Chicago needs a change. The guy's gotten too comfortable in the position. You'd think the stupid people would want a change. But who knows? For all we know, the election is rigged. I've heard 'the deceased' still play a pretty large role in society there. Everything from still receiving parking tickets to casting votes!
    Corruption at it's finest.

I want to get out of this hole so bad. I'm so fed up with it. If the ban passes, it will be the last straw. I guess the Armalite factory will have to close up and move out of state with me, too. Some new community will benefit from it. We have proposed bans like this on a yearly basis. It's only a matter of time before they get one passed. If it's defeated, it won't matter. They'll be at it again next year.
I'd love to be able to change the state for the better. I want to stay where my family has lived for generations, but they leave me no choice. I'm ready to leave family and friends behind if I have to. I'm fed up with my job anyway. I don't want to pay taxes to a state like this the rest of my life. It could've been a decent place to live too. It's really a shame. The rest of the state is pretty decent folks just that Chicago drags it all down.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that 90 days after the effective date of this amendatory Act, it is unlawful for any person within this State to knowingly manufacture, deliver, sell, purchase, or possess or cause to be manufactured, delivered, sold, purchased, or possessed a semi-automatic assault weapon, an assault weapon attachment, any .50 caliber rifle, or .50 caliber cartridge. Provides that beginning 90 days after the effective date of this amendatory Act, it is unlawful for any person within this State to knowingly manufacture, deliver, sell, purchase, or possess or cause to be manufactured, delivered, sold, purchased, or possessed a large capacity ammunition feeding device. Provides that these provisions do not apply to a person who possessed a prohibited weapon, device, or attachment before the effective date of this amendatory Act if the person has provided proof of ownership to the Department of State Police within 90 days after the effective date of this amendatory Act. Provides that on or after the effective date of this amendatory Act, such person may transfer such device only to an heir, an individual residing in another state maintaining that device in another state, or a dealer licensed as a federal firearms dealer. Specifies penalties for violations. Provides exemptions. Provides that the provisions of the Act are severable. Effective immediately.

This is crazy. 9 senators are co-sponsoring this bill.

I'm sure the gangbangers in Chicago are shaking in their boots now!

I'm still trying to get over this. I'm just in awe of this bill. If you read the whole thing, all pump shotguns with a fixed magazine capacity of 5 rounds (basically all shotguns) ARE INCLUDED in the ban. It's so confusing, I can't figure out what would be legal and what wouldn't be. This is a ban like I've never seen! How do you provide proof of ownership to the #$%$#**&$ police!? Bring everything down to the shop and throw it on their table for inspection? I HATE THIS STATE!!!!! Time to write some letters before it's too late.

If you need to find what district you're in, here's a map:

Senate district numbers are in black.

Why oh why can't the anti-gun liberals make it so that if you committ a violent crime with an AR-15 and 4 mags THEN that particular criminal automatically spends his/her life in prison? Oh wait. That would be too tough on the criminals and would not even touch us peaceful lawful AR-15 gun owners. That would definately not please the anti-gun liberals.

    Nevermind.

The way I read it, it says that pumps are excluded."Semi-automatic assault weapon" does not
    24 include:
    25 (A) any firearm that:
26 (i) is manually operated by bolt, pump, lever,

Every body run out and buy a .50 cal. Black powder. Then on the last day flood the cops with turning them in. If they don't take it get a signed note and register the note at the county court house.
That should stand up in court if your caught with a barrett. Just show your get out of following the law ticket.

We moved to Iowa from Illinois in 1967. Best move my folks ever made. However I feel for all my other relatives left there in commie land. I usually go back for one reason or the other every year, and I always pack. They have no conceal carry laws, and my cousins think I'm crazy, but I have a Constitutional Right to do so. That preceeds any of their states commie laws in my book.

If the rest of Illinois was smart they would kick Cook county out of the state and make it a Republic where they can do as they wish. My cousins complain all the time how a few in Cook County regulate all laws for the rest of the state. I see it and it's not fair.

Under this bill Rock River would have to move out of the state.

I would think it would suck to be a manufacturer in a a state where the governor does not want your tax dollars and whats you to leave.
