Got the letter today
Yep it looks final, XM and sirius's merger will be final the end of this year. They reassured me though, now I can get Oprah and Martha Stewart.[:o)]

Monopolies are not pre se illegal. Virtually all utilities are regulated monopolies, and any form of a patent, trademark, or copyright is a monopoly.[;)][:)] 0 -
I had SIRIUS for over a year and loved it. Then, one day, it just started to annoy me. I listened to it quite often online and I could not login because of "maintenance" or some other problem on SIRIUS's side. I had SIRIUS for only one channel, #14-Classic Vinyl. They began playing the same songs over, and over, and over. I got tired of paying $12.95 a month to not be able to use it online and listen to the same music each time I was in my car. 0 -

What? Are they not making new classic vinyl anymore?
I do not know if they will keep or ditch Classic Vinyl but I cancelled my SIRIUS service late last year because I was fed up with the horrible service.0 -

maybe, but not necessarily illegal or a bad idea. as it stands right now both companies will go broke and out of business soon. their only hope is to merge. the consumer will and should determine the outcome.0 -

My car came with a free (well, pre-paid) year of Sirius - I have no intention of renewing when it runs out. 0 -
I have to listen to radio at least 12 hours a day. most days it's more like every waking hour. More and more these days, when I'm in my car, I want to listen to nothing.
I'm so burnt out on any kind of radio, terrestrial or satellite, that I just can't cough up a single emotion about this merger.

They contend that it isn't a monopoly because they compete with 'free' radio. I suppose. I do like my XM. Comedy, blues, classic rock by decade, talk radio when I can stomach it, Baseball. I'd cancel my cable TV before I'd get rid of XM. 0 -

xm is in financial trouble. sirius isnt doing to badly, what with 6,000,000 subscribers at 12.95, theyre raking in 77,700,000 monthly or 932,400,000 yearly before advertising revenue. the 500,000,000 they contratced to pay howard over the next five years is pocket change. 0
