Cant find the thread this was on. Someone mentioned that certain files were suspicious and said to avoid downloading those.

Can you explain this a little further????????

Don't know about the thread, but I tried downloading a song by
Roy Drusky (Red, Red Wine) and it did contain a virus. It was of
    the "Trojan Horse" type.

limewire itself is full of spyware and crappy files. The only file downloading software that was and has ever been worth while and free of bugs was Kazza ++. However, finding that software today is just about impossible. When I was under the cover of the uni. I would download all the time, now thats not really so smart.

I have the free verios of limewire and have NEVER had a spyware hit because of it. If you have a decent antivirus and spyware (I have AVG) then you wont have a problem if you have any common sense.

Basically if the file does not read like the original would then dont download it. Spelling mistakes and the wrong name on the song are some clues. If someone has ripped it from a cd then it will read perfect!

Shoff you can goto Kazaa.com and download the program you were talking about. I personally didnt like Kazaa and had issues with it.

Thanks, I didnt like Kazaa either. It bombarded me with spam and popups within minutes. Limewire is great.quote:Originally posted by gagirl

The new kazaa is not the same as the old ones. Old ones had ton of stuff. Kazaa ++ was a nock off of kazaa before they were sued. The last time I saw limewire on someones computer, it was full of spyware, maybe new versions are different. This is from experience fixing several peoples computers due to limewire.
