how much do you give for church offering

just curious how many of you folks give your full 10% of your income to the church, and is it before taxes or after?

    10% of my income, plus any talents I have, web design, I also cut the grass and help with replacing the lights.

    10% after taxes. Although I won't argue the merits of before or after tax, I have been posed with this question: Do you want a gross blessing or a net blessing?

    I do not tithe. I do give $150 every Sunday I attend-which is more than half the time.

    I sponsor a youth group and help with any fundraising I am able to. I suppose I could do more.

    Before taxes...10% tithe and whatever offering above that we can or feel led to do....the funny thing is, I cannot afford not too.

    That's so cool. Teen Challenge is a great program. I don't play in a band, but I do play lead guitar on our worship team.

    We do not attend church like we should, but we always send our tithes by my mother or one of my sisters.

    10% tithes, also give in offerings, support girls teen challenge on a monthly basis. It's amazing seeing their lives changed![:)]

    Doesn't the Bible say that Tithing is to help strangers and widows? I remember the pastor of one church I attended did just that. Tithing is good and it does come back to us.

    The church that I attend has what we call a "LOVE FUND". The monies collected for this fund is used for helping strangers if we are aware that there is a need and for our widows.

    Our Church also Tithes. 10% goes to missionaries and community outreaches in our area.

    I give about 15% to a Catholic Church....they offer daycare.


    I'm atheist....kinda.....think something is out there....just don't think anybody has it right.

    You can't find cheaper daycare.[:p]

    Since I don't go to church does it still count as an offering?[:D]

    The way I see it, and this is just my opinion, you can't give an offering until you give a tithe. Wife and I tithe 10% on all income before taxes. Kids tithe 10% on their allowance. Then we give an offering to other ministries within the church, especially at this time of year. With the economy in the crapper, we have lots of people within our church who need help making ends meet, especially with Christmas coming up. We (church) usually provides gifts and groceries for around 20 families. Usually spend about $500 on each one. Usually about half the families come from the church, the other half comes from the elementary school up the road. We work closely with the Resource Center there to help folks who need it. So always give more this time of year to support that. I figure God has blessed me with so much, that we just need to help others in whatever way we can.

    None of your business, and it even irritates me somewhat that the church secretary/treasurer knows, and sends me an annual statement of my contributions. It should be between me and God, but seems it can't be, unless I am willing to give up the tax deduction.

    Before taxes, and at least 10%. When the wife and I have been in need of money in order to pay a bill or such, our faithfulness in tithing has been rewarded and we have received the money we needed to meet the bill.

    Nunn, all you have to do is put green cash in an envelope without your name on it and you have accomplished what you want. Most people want receipts for tax deductions and thus the recordkeeping.

    I was the treasurer of our previous church. I resigned in part because I knew the offerings of the members. I felt that I was developing an ill-feeling toward the "holier than thou" wealthier members who gave a lot less than those who were lower income. Yet they were the ones who would complain that the members were not being faithful financially. Believe me, the treasurers would also like NOT to know what everyone gave.
