Military Aviation, Wit, & Wisdom
Just received this from my wife's uncle. What makes them even funnier, is if you can
imagine them coming from Mac, as they gently roll from his long smooth Amarillo drawl.

And my favorite, " Takeoffs are optional, landings are mandatory." 0 -
I like Krista McCauliff's last words:
"I wonder what this button does?"0 -
[:D][:D][:D]! 0 -
There are old pilots and there are bold pilots, but there are no old bold pilots. 0 -

I love the imagery of this one.

Very good. Had some good laughs reading this one. 0 -
Got one from my world:
"If we see you running away chief, we'll take it as a sign we need to exit the plane." Random B-52 pilot.0 -
A person of #*$ish descent landed his plane at a strange airport and said "Wow, this is sure a short runway!" and his passenger of the same descent said "Yeah, and really wide too!!". 0 -

Why do they always have to be Polish?0 -
Quit putting words in my post. I didn't say Polish, I said #*$ish. Poundstardollarish. The opposite of Ounceplanetpennyish. Now go play in your sandbox! 0 -
When I worked on C-130's, the guys had a running joke. When we landed in a good place (Vegas, Miami....). The Pilots do a -1 inspection and we do a -2-4-6 inspection. 2 wings, 4 engines and 6 tires. Good to go.
Just a joke0 -
How big of a pain in the arse are them 130's? How long did a preflight usually take? 0 -
Some flightline quips from post flight logs, which are stated in terms of P:(problem), and S: (Solution)between the pilots and maaintence guys
1. P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement
S: Almost replaced left inside main tire
2. P: Test Flight O.K., except auto land very rough
S: Aircraft not equipped with auto-lan feature
3. P: Something loose in cockpit
S: Something tightened in cockpit
4. P: Dead bugs on windshield
S: Live bugs on back-order
5: P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 FPM descent
S: Could not replicate problem on ground
6. P: Eveidence of leak on right main landing gear.
S: Evidence removed
7. P: DME volume unbelievebly loud
S: DME volume set to a more believeble level
8. P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick
S: That's what they are SUPPOSED to do!
9. P: IFF inopperative
S: IFF always inopperative on "off" mode
10. P: Suspected crack in windshield
S: Suspect your correct
11. P: Number 3 engine missing.
S: Engine foound on right wing after a brief but intense
search.
12. P: Aircraft handles funny
S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right and be
serious
13. P: Target radar hums
S: Reprogrammed target radar with the words
14. P: Mouse in cockpit
S: Cat installed
These were evidently Quantas mechanics who responded this way in the logs. Seems sorta funny that a bunch of people with that twisted a sense of humor could be so good at their jobs that they have NEVER had a fatal aircraft accident. Maybe we all need to relax and laugh it up like the Sussies?!0
