Ram-line woes...
Wah!!!!!!!!
I had a very nice Ram-line dual-folding stock for my Mini-14. About three weeks ago, I had the gun at the range and noticed that the handle had a crack in it. Ram-line guarantees their stocks for life and says they won't crack, split, bend or warp.
I e-mailed Ram-line and they were WONDERFUL with regard to getting back to me in a timely fashion (less than 12 hours), gave me great instructions how to ship the stock to them, and indicated they would replace it for free.
Yesterday, we came home from New Mexico and there was a package at my front door from Ram-line. I got all excited until I opened it up.
1. I got a single-folding stock for a 10/22.
2. I called them this morning, and they indicated that they no longer make the dual-folding stock for the Mini-14. In fact, apparently they no longer make any type of folding stock for the Mini-14.
I've been given a choice:
1. I can get a synthetic standard stock.
2. I can get a lockarm stock.
I don't want either. I have a standard stock sitting in my closet. And, while a lockarm stock still looks neat, it seems pretty pointless to have a cool-looking stock if the cool-looking stock doesn't do what it should.
Being an MBA student, I was immediately able to think up of a good solution (one I'm surprised the people at Ram-line didn't consider).
Since the folding stock that I had and the lock-arm stock that they have use the same main body, why couldn't they take the folding section from mine and mate it to the lock-arm section of theirs?
She thought it was a good idea and she's going to have her manager look into it. Honestly, it is just a matter of pulling a clip and replacing it.
The problem is, did they dispose of my stock already? Somehow, I'm guessing they did.

I guess they're cool little things.. for those fans of Ruger..
I kind of like the idea of a folding stock, but I'm partial to the old type like on the SPAS-12's myself.0
