Should I Pay Up? Fleabay Question
I have had an account with Fleabay for about as long as I have had one with Gunbroker. I have used Fleabay to sell oddball stuff that I didn't figure would sell well on Gunbroker.
I got an email from Fleabay, said I should go here, click there, jump through some hoops so that they can collect about four bucks I owe them. Well, my debit card has been registered on Fleabay since 1999, and they have never had any trouble collecting their fees. I have no idea what might have changed since then.
I answered the email and told them they have all the information they need to collect. I didn't change anything in my profile. If they goofed up, that's their problem.
Anyhow, I am suspended from listing items for sale, but I can still buy stuff if I want to. (Strange how that works!)
I don't care about my account being suspended. I may care later if I find some flea market stuff to sell, but for now, I am happy.
Should I jump through the required hoops to pay up, or just wait until I want to list something?

I know, I know. I also had a similar problem when my credit card expired. Try as I might to correct the problem, I couldn't. I had to eventually call them on the phone.
And, while it is something wrong on their end, I'd take the five minutes required to fix it and to simply get the debt paid.0 -

I had a similar incident with them a while back. My card had expired and I had to update the card before they would lift the suspension. 0 -

...Well, knowing you, "it" would cross your mind and "bug" you from time to time...send them the $4 bucks in pennies...bulk rate box no matter the weight, $5.60...do it...[:D]

Funny thing, they say they can't bill my credit card $2.26.

Report that e-mail to poof@ebay.com, I believe that it was not sent from e-bay. I have received similar ones in the past, and they were fakes.

Go to your account on e-bay and check the information there, if you have not sold anything there for awhile you should be wondering what the charge is for.
I get spoof "pshing" messages through the "my messages" on e-bay also.

Yes, 1-i they do phish in that manner but when it is legit there is an identical message in your eBay account to confirm it is real as it is in this case.
That is how one checks to make sure it really is from eBay.
If anyone gets and email about eBay and there is not a message to verify in your account at eBay it is phishing!

Wulf, I have had them come through the e-bay messages! the best way is to log into your account and see what is owed, and whay it did not get paid.

I delete all messages that have anything to do with money related services if they want me to click a link. If they are just telling me something fine but if theres a link in that email its most likely not from the company.
Same with phone calls, credit card company calls me and asks for info I tell them no I will call you.
There is no reason what so ever for them to ask you for anything in an un-secured manner, they already know all your info. If there asking for some of it its probbably a scammer.
Have kept myself out of hot water by sticking to that.0 -
