old motorcycle heaven found
I was off the beaten path today and was driving along a gravel road in the middle of nowhere today and seen a sign at the end of a driveway advertising a motorcyle shop.
This guy has over 100 parts bikes behind his barn. The barn is full of old classics which are for sale. He also has a shop full of bikes being worked on.
I spent over an hour out in the scrap yard and drooled at the bikes in the barn. Most everything is from the 1970s with some 1960s and 1980s scattered around.
Kawasaki 500 Triple
Yamaha RD400
Yamaha RD350
Honda 750 4
Lots of Kawasaki, Honda and Yamaha Street bikes, big and small. A few Suzuki.
About a zillion old dirt bikes fo every kind. Many old Honda three wheelers.
The prices weren't bad at all. It looked to me like most of the business he gets is working on 4 wheelers for farmers.

Does he happen to have an orange gastank for a Bridgestone TMX-100? 0 -
You would not have happen to in south-astern Ohio would you?
I once saw a bike salvage somewhere in south-eastern Ohio and have yet to relocate it. It seems as if it were somewhere along Rt23 that goes into Columbus.
My local Yamaha dealer has an old Honda 305 Dream that is in show room condition. I gave him my first real motorcycle a 1972 Honda 50 Elonore in 1990. It was in great shape cosmetically. But needed an new piston and a set of points that can only be gotten from Belgium at a cost of $375.00. So it now sits on a shelf in his shops show room.
I once had an RD350 and a 750 Kaw triple that was used for hill climbs and sand drags in the late 80's. Loved the RD due to its very simple engine design. The Yamaha Banshee 4 wheeler uses the same engine as the RZ350 twin two strokes with very little changes to the basic design.
Dang EPA has killed the fun times of playing with high horse power and two stroke engines.
But like my guns. The EPA will have to wait until I am dead to get my last 2 stroke toy..0 -
Many, many years ago I had one of those Saki 500 triples. It routinely scared the cr*p out of me[:)]
