    What's it worth anyways?


    That depends on weather your local metal reclaimer will give fired brass an "A" rating,without punching all the primers..Last time i went to mine, copper was at $1.20 lb. I believe brass is worth even more,say $1.50 per. lb.so at $1.50X11,600=$17,400 [:0]
    Even with a "B" rating, it'd be worth more than $31,00.

    Just called our local scrap metal buyer. Brass is .90 per pound.

    But you have to get this lot shipped from Guam.

    almost every state has a big batch of brass for sale,no wonder as a country we are going broke,just the stuff they are selling in these auctions would be enough to end the budget problems,I found one auction where they were selling 250 new bowflex machines for almost nothing,waste waste waste

    Thanks folks...didn't bid on them. They went for $8450.....+10% buyers premium. I might have gone half that.



    BTW around 1982 they started making pennies out of zinc with a thin layer of copper. Ain't much copper on a penny.

    There was lot of 5.56 brass at the base I work at, Ft. Carson. They listed the weight at 1,080 pounds. It went for just over $200. I tried to talk the wife into letting me bid on it. I explained I'd never have to buy brass for reloading again. She didn't go for it, though. [:(]

    Pennys aren't solid copper.
    That is why the US Mint changed them. The copper was worth more than a penny.
