Charter Arms Bulldog

I'm fairly new to this forum, so stop me if this has come up before. But I am looking for a carry gun, and am intrigued by the Charter Arms Bulldog in .44 Special. Anyone familiar with that one? Any concerns with quality?

Nope, don't want an auto. I like round guns.

    I had one that was a very good gun. It was VERY accurate,light,good grips. The trigger pull wasnt so smooth on Double Action But Single was silky. I did notice that after I fired alot of rounds from it it started getting pretty loose but I fired that thing all the time. A excellent gun for the purpose though so I would reccomend one. Get some Hornady XTP's and Winchester SilverTips and you'll be good to go. F.Y.I my gun was most accurate with the Hornady so I dont see where it would be any fdifferent with other Bulldogs. I mean ACCURATE because they are surprisingly ACCURATE.

    Charter Arms' history has been up and down. You might want to invest in something else.

    What Thunderbolt said. At various points they have been considered Saturday night specials. That is also what the .44 Magnum killer, the Son of Sam carried.

    I don't believe the Bulldog was offered in .44 Remington Magnum.

    I think they are pretty good firearms.

    Bulldog was never offered in 44 magnum. The new Charter Arms Bulldog is a good gun, as the original was.

    Bought a Bulldog awhile ago. Shoots good and to point of aim with standard velocity loads. Shoots low with higher velocity loads. Only have about 100 rds through it so far, but no problems and handles great.[^]

    I got mine almost new for $150. Light weight model .44 special 5 shot cylinder. Had a problem with it- sent it to Charter Arms and they fixed it for free.
