Yet another senseless poll -- reload or factory?
I'm curious how many other serious reloaders are out there besides me? Although I typically have 2-4 boxes of factory ammunition for every firearm in my "collection", there's also 500-2000 rounds of reloads for any given caliber. [^]
I reload .25, .32, .380, .38sp, .38sp+P, .357, 9mm, .40, .45ACP, .45LC, .454, .50AE, .223, 7mm-08, 7mmBR, 7.62x39, .30-30, .30-06, .308, .410ga, 20ga and 12ga. That should cover it. [^]
How about YOU?

I'm getting ready to buy my equipment. I shoot so much that ammo prices are killing me!
I figured it out the other day and between all my calibers I am shooting over 3000 rounds a month.

I reload both metallic cartridges and shotshells.
That's half the fun of shooting, being able to "roll your own".
Plus, some of the caliber's I have are wildcat's and that's the only way to get ammo for 'em.
I do buy some factory loads, such as non-tox for waterfowl by the case.

...always wanted to, just never got around to it. Now, when I have all the time in the wold to reload, I don't trust myself enough not to make a Ka-Boom...[:D]
...I'm real lucky to have an ammo shop not too far from me that have had the same family of re-loaders fixin up great ammo for them for 20+ years...and Ive used that ammo for 'bout that long, never a FTFire...and if I want some "hot" 10mm...I just place my order...[;)]

I have been reloading for years, The last ten years or so more shotshell than anything else.. After acquireing a 410 and a 28 gauge, and seeing the price per box for those, I ordered new machines..Three boxes , 1 410 and 2 28 gauge, 31 bucks.. as compared to around 3 bucks a box to reload them..[:0] 0 -
I reload 223, 22 Hornet, 357 Mag, 38 Special, 45 Colt, 7.62 x 25 and 25-20 WCF. The only centerfire round I don't reload is 9mm.

And then another friend tells me he can get me my own setup (used) for about 1/3 the cost of new.

Reload for .308, .22-250, .30-06, .45-120, .250 Sav., 7.7 Jap, .25-06, .223(Rarely, Factory stuff is cheaper) .44 mag .45ACP.
The rest of the stuff I have, I don't shoot enough to reload like my 30-30 maybe a box a year etc.0 -
I consider reloading a "whole nother" hobby. Other than rimfire I reload for almost everything I shoot including shotshells. I don't reload 7.62x39 (but may have to start) and I don't load for 8mm mauser or .303 British but may if I start shooting them more. I think we reload somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 different cartidges and shotshells. 0 -

reload all the way, what most people fail to realize when comparing the prices are that they compare it to wally world or equivalent ammo, while it may be comparable in price, and even cheaper you are not doing yourself justice without actually comparing it to the best match grade ammo you can buy, to purchase anything even close to what i can load would cost me 25.00 a box of 20, when in fact i can load 300 rounds for that 0 -

I reload all of my general shooting rounds. Call me crazy, but I use factory premium ammo for hunting. Maybe once I get more confident in my rounds I'll use them to hunt with. Don't want to miss that big one becuase I forgot to charge the case.
Currently only 7 calibers because I just started in December.

You forgot 5.7x28. I am looking now for some reloaders for that caliber since I hope to get my Five Seven in the next two weeks. I can save my brass, but anyone know where I can find some bullets? In case this is confusing, I do not reload myself, but I am looking for someone who is able to reload so I can supply him with the materials and decrease the cost some.0 -

I have pretty near a "whole big bunch" of ammo. Except for the surplus 7.62X54 Russian, 8MM Mauser and 22LR all of it is handloaded. Factory ammo is for sissies, multi-millionaires, factory shooters and the gub'Ment 0 -

Think portable! I made this guy for when I go on the road and it works just as well as my home bench and folds up very small- 100% stable and low cost. Whats not pictured on the back side of the press is another piece of alum that I put scales, powder measure, case prep stuff on.
