For your enjoyment and edification, I have elected to GIVEAWAY a vintage and classic tome on shootology, to wit:
Pistol and Revolver Shooting By A.L.A. Himmelwright that was published in 1933. Originally copyrighted in 1908!
It has some wonderful early shooting insights, data, USRA team scores, techniques, results of US War Department test of Automatic Pistols that every 1911 buff will enjoy, Courses of Fire for various groups, and lots MORE info.
One small excerpt:
"The Service Revolvers still in use in the U.S. Army are the Smith & Wesson and Colt, both .45 cal.. By the use of a special clip fitting the crease in the shells these arms have been adapted to the rimless ammunition of the service magazine pistol. These arms are enlarged and heavier counterparts of the .38 cal. models of the same makers, and represent, without doubt, the highest development of the military revolver"
Rules for qualification are the following;
Must have minimum of 250 posts, but maximum of 13,000
Must be able to read & comprehend English
Must get your entry in before 12:PM MST 10/20/2007

I will pick the winner by printing out the names of the posters, cutting them into little strips, placing them in a tumbler with 1 (one) 300WM case, and tumbling until a slip enters the case, denoting the winner.*

I think the slip was lighter than the others because it had so few letters on it.
* The original drawing method had some drawbacks; the bleening slips wouldn't enter the case mouth. I alternated the method by putting the slips into .30Carbine cases, putting a dab of wax over the case mouth, and tumbled them with a pair of .357Mag brass. Only took a coupla minutes before the winner was decided!

Now for who the heck I am,
Been posting since 02/2004, started while waiting and recooping from back surgery and then during gunsmith school in Trinidad, Co.
Presently employed as a gunsmith for Gander Mountain in Fayetteville, NC.
Just a plain OLD smart a$$(sometimes)[;)]. Can take it as well as give it. Yes I did go to Trinidad for school and not one of them there sex change operations that they are famous for (God, does Trinidad have some of the ugliest, hairiest, big footed women in the world). Don't go to a bar there looking for companionship. Was afraid that if I broke a leg, I'd come out my wifes best friend!!
