.220 Swift
Have always wanted one and with Ruger dropping it from their lineup now is as good of time as any I guess. Here are the two I have been wanting. Which one would you guys take if you had the option of them being given to you? Uses will be probably 75% paper punching/playing with different loads and 25% hunting.

Personaly the Ruger. For some reason nothing Remington ever made looked or felt right to me , JMO 0 -
I have a ruger 220 swift just a standard blued walnut and love it 0 -
I've had a Model 70 (circa 1952) for several years now. There are some around still in good shape. I just adjusted the trigger on mine to a lower pound trigger pull. You won't go wrong on the caliber; mine has been an excellent coyote gun. I've seen a few at the gun shows in VG condition for around 600-800 dollars. 0 -
I'd go with the Remington. 0 -
Anyone in their right mind would pick the Remington![;)] 0 -
Remington.
Ruger isn't in the big boy league.

Go with the remington, but you'll need to replace the trigger. Also find a set of scope mounts and rings with alot of adjustment as Remington has been careless lately while drilling holes for mounts. Burris Z rings work well for that.
You know, thinking about all of that, you would be better off with a Savage.0 -
Does Savage make a .220 Swift?

Not yet, but I am not too worried. They seem to take a good amount of time to start coming nowadays. I will let ya know when I get the first issue though[:p]

I would take a new model Savage over the new Remingtons.....!! The new stamped out triggers are CRAP! Now if we are talking the old model 700 Remington's....I would take one for sure. 0 -
I would take the Winchester.

I have the Ruger 77V in the .220, very nice gun and shoots great. It is blued model and walnut stock. I am not a fan of SS, too bright and shiny.

Got a Ruger Single shot in 200 Swift with a heavy barrel and a Leopold scope. Crows don't come close anymore. Hit a crow out to 400 yards and a lot of their feathers come off and they end up on the ground, usually with parts scattered. 0
