Fred wound the Goldwing up!
Fred Harmon is kind of famous among a lot of Texas Wing riders. He's on vacation out in Palo Duro Canyon. Got a down hill run and decided to air it out. Check out the speedometer. Not bad for a Goldwing with 106K on it.

Good for him. But, not for me. 106mph is the fasted I've been on two wheels, forgot about a curve coming up. When I got to it, let off, touched the brakes and leaned. Prayed the rear tire would hold, and the peg wouldn't touch. Made it through. Haven't been much over 80 since then. Now four wheels, that's different.[:D] 0 -

If my husband had me flappin in the wind like that....at 140 mph...I would make him able to park in the handicapped spots when I got through. 0 -

I know what happens when you hit a buzzard eating road kill in the middle of the road at 160. I didn't like what I saw, and it was a closed casket for the guy who did it. I'll keep mine in the slow lane![;)]0 -

Man, that must be some stable ride. Most of the time you have to put a steering stabilizer on to prevent wheel wobble, going that fast. Must be nice to have a road you can open her like that.

Agreed. I had an '81 CB900 Custom with the big fairing and bags on it. After 90mph it just didn't feel right, like it was having too hard of a time pushing all that air out of the way, and any crosswind would push it all over the road. I don't think I ever had it over 100 mph.0 -

I had my old V-Max up to 170+ one day...felt like running over a grain of sand would have me sliding...the last thing I was thinking was, "Gee, I should take a picture"[:0]
That camera either has the fastest shutter speed I've ever seen, that bike's just plain not moving or it's on a jack stand!0 -

the bike is on a jack stand. I can't beleive the scenery is THAT DETAILED with a camera taking a picture under the shove of the air, the vibration of the engine and road at 150mph. Look at the camera angle,...it's above the windshield[:0] 0 -

Not true. He did it. I've had my '03 Wing up to 125 on a straight flat road and it was stable as could be and had throttle left. Don't ever plan to do it again, but the Horizontal 6 on the wing is a strong engine, and with the Traxxion suspension, they are flat rack speed demons.

PS, the dark part is the lower section of the adjustable windshield. The top part is clear and connected to the rails and actuator you see. You don't see the top of the clear part because the camera body is below it.0 -

You are comparing a 550 pound bike with no aerodynamics to a 925 pound bike with triple the HP and full aerodynamics designed from a wind tunnel. Big difference!
My '99 Ford Taurus SHO would run circles around my '68 Charger 440 Magnum with 1/2 the engine because of modern fuel injection, ignition and aerodynamics. Gotta' get out of the past! Things aren't like they used to be.0 -
The picture is fake. Go to the link below and look at the 150mph one, and then go to the bottom and look at the 70mph one. Notice how the bushes are identical. Now, perhaps this fellow cruised through the area at 70mph and took a picture at an exact point, and then drove backwards and cranked it up to 150mph and took a picture at the same exact point. But I ain't buying it. It's faked. He moved the needle, got rid of the cruise control light, and did a few other simple things.

Believe what you wish, it's not fake. Look at the second picture, It's farther down the road. He snapped on picture, slowed to 70 and set the cruise, then snapped the second picture.0 -

I ride a BMW K1200LT. Don't know about the picture posted but my ride is capable of running down the road at 120+ packing double with the cruise set. German designed and built for the Autobahn. Rode it across a lot of South Dakota at 100+ last summer. True, you hit a buzzard at that speed and you are going to have a a serious issue. If you want to ride at those speeds, you better pay real close attention to what you are doing and what is coming up cause its coming at you twice as fast as it was at 60. I hit a coyote in California in '81 at 90. Rode right through him like he (or maybe a she) was a paper bag. Made a pretty bad mess, took a while to get the blood, guts and hair off.
There are roads where 45 is about as fast as I really need to be going and then there are roads where I feel safe at 120+. Depends on what you are on, road and traffic conditions, your skill level and your attitude.0
