Cussing............
Do you cuss? I don't even try not to. It relieves tension without the necessity of having to think. I knew a guy who could cuss so good it was downright poetic. It would make you pause just to analyze what he just said. He was the maintenance man at the parochial school. He didn't even cuss around the nuns. It was amazing.

Unfortunatly I cuss like a sailor I have been tring to calm it down alot more here in the last year or so. I got moved up to a foremans position and you can't be sitting in a meeting with superintentdant's & project managers from other companies dropping the F bomb it relly sounds bad I did this in my first meeting and was severly reprimanded by my P.M. (Wich is also a good friend of mine) 0 -

Yes. I'm aware enough of what I'm doing, to not do it where and when it's inappropriate -- but I'm also aware enough that, when I do it, I do so very effectively. Sometimes nothing less than a good, heartfelt run of profanity will properly sum up one's dissatisfaction with present circumstances, such as realizing that one has just almost completely severed a good-sized chunk of one's finger. Or that one's immediate supervisor is a twit. Or that getting out of bed hurts more and more every day that one continues to breathe. Or.... Well, I think you get the idea. I swear -- just a little bit. 0 -
Heck yes, but I've tried to tone it down. However, like Mongrel1776 said sometimes it is just needed. Yesterday I some how managed to hit myself in the eye and they just came out naturally, I felt better, and after I could see out of it again went on about my day. 0 -
I can echo all of this. As a former sailor (son of a sailor, etc. etc.) it is almost genetic. HERE IS MY CAVEAT...rarely around my wife and never around my daughters. 0 -

I agree. What are you gonna say if you hit your thumb with a hammer? Oh, darn?

Cussing from time to time when I'm frustrated is a bad habit that I seem to have a hard time breaking. I try like hell not too though. 0 -

By and large, true. Where discussion along those lines gets interesting, though, is when a person of intelligence, possessed of an extensive vocabulary, determines after rational consideration that the only word or words appropriate to a given situation, are the naughty ones. Usually in rapid and prolonged sequence, with extra credit given for unique combinations of the old standards.0 -

True but so what? When I hit my thumb with a hammer I don't need to THINK! [8] I need to say something RIGHT NOW![:p]

Its an addiction worse than smoking. It is a hard one to break. 0 -
The madder I get, the less I cuss.

When I was growing up the only time we could cuss was when we were working on a car, later when we were working on a computer was also added. Now I don't even do that, I do not need it to slip out at the wrong time, It's not worth loosing a big sale over. 0 -
How about PLUMBING? I had to invent some new words the last time I was working under the sink!
JM0 -
Nope, not me. [:D][}:)] 0 -
Usually when a situation is so confoundedly stupid or screwed up other words cannot effectively describe it. 0 -
I asked the wife about this.
She said, "rarely"
A word or two may slip out if I am describing a complete moron, or if I have just had my driving skills tested, to avoid being killed. Along with the times when my hand eye coordination isn't up to par, causing my thumb to get in the way of a hammer in motion, etc. Other than that, not on a daily basis.0 -
It's a pretty rare occasion for me. The only times it happens is when I'm in a lot of pain or insanely mad. Neither of which happen very often.
I'm disgusted with the young ladies in my generation. (I'm 20) They have a worse mouth than the guys that I know. Nothing more repulsive than a girl talking like a sailor. [xx(]0 -
I do it all the time.
Years of working in Prison have allowed the "F word" to replace "uh" and "y'know" in my speech.
It sucks. I try to moderate around the children.

nope not here 0 -
yes i do, and the madder i get the more i cuss 0 -
I'll answer for rcrx-mike on this one, too.
I once heard him use the "f" word in the same sentence as 8 different articles of speech.
He is one of those men, like the dad in "A Christmas Story,"
He worked in profanity the way other artists might work in oils or clay. It was his true medium; a master.
Sometimes I think he just makes up words.0
