Kinda funny story while on a medical call today!!
OK..so we responded to a call for "Chest Pain" at a residence this morning. We get in the house and our patient is complaining of chest pain. We start the motions of treating him...Oxygen, Heart Monitor, Aspirin, vital signs, etc. I get the small spray bottle of Nitroglycerin out and prepare to give this guy a spray of Nitro. As a habit, I always put the Nitro down towards the floor and spray it a couple of times just to make sure it's "primed" and I give a full dose of Nitro. I was looking at my patient as I sprayed at the floor and I looked down and there is the patients cat right underneath me!!!! Poor kitty got two sprays of Nitro!!!!!!!!! I think it was OK though. It just ran off after that. I'm sure he had a good headache afterwards. I hated that I did that. I've got two cats at home and I really did feel bad. Maybe kitty turned out fine. Just wanted to share that.

It dilates the blood vessels. Cat probaly had a hell of a headache is all.0 -
Nitro will dilate the body's blood vessels. Basically enlarging the vessels allowing more blood flow. The main side effect of Nitro administration is a headache and sometimes a reduction in blood pressure. 0 -

I wouldn't worry too much. Cats don't have blood per se, they have chlorophyll just like any other houseplant.

Our cats DON'T stink up the house. They use a litter box. They DON'T pee all over the house. Plus, all my furniture is still in tact. We take very good care of our pets....they are like family. 0 -

My cats go outside to crap or wee wee.
They are very neat and clean inside the house.0 -
I'm going to try to call and follow-up on my patient(AND HIS CAT) tomorrow. Last I heard the guy was in fact having a severe heart attack (i could tell that he was) and got two stints and the balloon. 0 -
A dog will walk past a full bowl of dogfood to steal a "snack" out of the cat's litter box.
